Ratings_icons Still Shocked and Angry at I Do I Do Wedding Gowns

Lori W.

I also had a terrible experience at I Do I Do. The bridal party, for my daughter's wedding, spent over $2500 on dresses at I Do-I Do. My other daughter's standard size 14J Jr Bridesmaid dress was miss-cut by the manufacturer. To re-order the dress (which is manufactured in China) meant that it would not arrive until 5 days before the wedding, which I felt was too risky.

It took 10 days of repeated calling to get a return call from the owner, Jacquelin. Although I was not planning on making any alterations, she took the position that fixing the dress became my responsibility and in spite of my protests, would only offer me $25 towards the $75 in necessary alterations for a dress that was cut wrong. Her seamstress would not complete the alterations until 3 days before the wedding, so I took the dress to another seamstress who understood my plight and made it her priority.

I contacted the manufacturer who was understanding and offered to reimburse me for the alterations through I Do-I Do but Jacquelin REFUSED to pass it on to me! Therefore, I had to eat the total cost of the alterations.

Considering what the bridal party spent and how I was treated at I Do - I Do, Would I recommend them? I Don't - I Don't!

Ratings_icons I DO I DO Wedding Gowns is Rude, Obnoxious Service!

T. E.

I brought my wedding dress in to be re-sold by I Do, I Do. The staff is very rude and unfriendly. When you walk in the store, until you let them know you have an appointment, they look at you like "How dare you enter our store!" My dress never sold, so I recently went back in to pick it up. They took care of the dress and handled it fine, but their attitudes are rude and snobby. I would NOT recommend this store!!!

This place is lovely! In addition to a quiet, gentle atmosphere, the staff go above and beyond to make certain one feels comfortable. If you have a choice, ask for Carole! She not only patiently listens to one's jokes, but is willing to laugh at them! In addition to this, she brings a comfort and ease to the experience that I didn't realize was possible. When I think of what it means to have good customer service, I have to say that Carole certainly went above and beyond!

When I bought my dress at I DO , I was not pleased at the "after sale" customer service. All of a sudden it was like being treated like a lower class.

However, I must say that after meeting their seamstress, Dawn, she turned things around for me...
she was very friendly, excited for me, listened to my list of changes and didnt seem to mind them at all. she even threw a few in herself. She has great patience as it took a few tries to get the effect we were aiming for..but it all worked and Dawn made it look just perfect for my special day

Even though I didn't buy a dress there, my experience at I DO I DO has been the best of the 11 bridal shops I've visited. The saleswoman (Antoinette I believe) was so sweet to me, and so patient. She helped me pick out gowns that she thought would look good on me, and my favorite of the gowns I tried on was one that she picked out for me. She was great about helping me to stay on budget. I didn't purchase a gown because I need a higher neckline to cover a scar, and I'm hoping to get a gown that wouldn't require major alterations to cover it, but i will be returning to I DO I DO in a week to see if they've got any new selection that will do the trick.

Ratings_icons GREAT EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!

margaret g.

My two daughters were married within 14 months and we bought both of their wedding gowns at I Do I Do. The staff was extremely professional, helpful and just as excited as we were about the wedding gown process! Both of my daughters found their dresses at their first appointment, including their veils and shoes and other accessories. We had no problems whatsoever with alterations and everything was ready when promised. I know that both my daughters have very fond and happy memories about buying their dresses and we can all highly recommend I Do I Do!

Ratings_icons Great experience, perfect dress

Laura R.

I had a wonderful experience at I DO I DO. I received great personal assistance from my consultant. She asked what I wanted my wedding day to be like, then helped pick out dresses that fit my vision, my budget, and my body type. She was right on...I found the perfect dress (okay, she found me the perfect dress) and it was well within my budget. Once we had the dress, coordinating tiara, veil, and shoes were only seconds behind. I recommend I DO I DO to every bride I meet.

I do not know what store some of you were at but the salespeople at I Do I Do were the best. The owner was extremely helpful and it felt like she gave my group personalized service, even though their were many other groups in as well. They let us pick out the dresses we thought we would like, but in the end, the salesperson picked out THE DRESS and it was UNDER MY BUDGET and perfect for my body type (I'm petite, but have big shoulders which is why the dresses I was picking out did not work) but when the salesperson explained what would work best on my body I found my dress in minutes! Don't get caught in a sea of brides at the a no service place like Davids, the running of the bulls at the Nordstrom rack or spend $$$$ money at those fancy boutiques where no one cares about your big day. I have referred many a girlfriend to I Do I Do and always will

I had two daughters' weddings to plan in 2 years--and I'm still here! My first daughter went to one of the larger chains and happened to find a dress she liked, but we had virtually no assistance, the alterations folks were unpleasant, the store gave us almost no attention. When my second daughter was ready to choose her dress, I dreaded it. Luckily we went to I Do, I Do first and were bowled over. The selection of dresses was amazing--so many more styles and price ranges, but more important to me was that we received real personal service. The staff had great suggestions, tuned right in to what my daughter wanted and made it a celebration. The dress was stunning, the quality was unbelievable for the price, the alterations were handled beautifully. We felt like everyone we dealt with took a personal interest and really cared--and that is rare. If I had another wedding to plan (and I'm glad I don't!) I wouldn't go anywhere else. It was an absolute 10!

Ratings_icons WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

Elisa G.

This was my third time dealing with the ladies at I Do I Do Wedding gowns, and again, quite a hit with me. During my first visit I sold my own wedding gown and my part of the commission was more than fair and the service was highly professional (and quick not to mention as far as the sale). Since then I have been a part of two bridal parties and then in addition, bought a new gown for myself because I loved one of the bridesmaids gowns so much I got it in a different color, chocolate brown, for a black tie wedding I went to this summer. The owner, Jacqueline, works very hard to get you exactly what you need AND she is very honest about your body-type which is crucial with my curves. Again, prices were MORE THAN FAIR... The tailor/seamstress that I have worked with each time did a great job with fitting me perfectly... I found the prices for her services to be competitive and her services, very thorough... as many fittings as needed to get things exact. I would recommend this shop with no hesitation.. the selection is amazing, the place is comfi and not overbooked like many others so you get personalized attention.

Ratings_icons Horrible, horrible experience

Anon A.

I had a horrible experience in this store. I would not recommend it to anyone. They will say anything to make a sale. They sold me a consignment dress that was too short for $850, claiming that it had been discontinued. Two weeks later, I found out that the dress had not been discontinued, and that I could have purchased it new and in my correct length for $1000. This is a fraudulent misrepresentation of the merchandise. The risky alterations required to lengthen the dress would cost more than the difference between the consignment dress I purchased and a new dress. I never would have made this purchase if I had not been told that it was discontinued. I made an appointment with the store owner in attempt to resolve the situation cordially and diplomatically (hoping that it was all a misunderstanding) and I was only met with condescension and contention. She was incredibly disrespectful and rude and she even wagged her finger in my future mother-in-law's face!!!! My future mother-in-law is the sweetest and most diplomatic person imaginable, she did nothing to provoke this abhorrent behavior. This woman does NOT deserve your business. It's all peaches and cream until you hand over your credit card. We have been in a five-month dispute over this issue which will likely end up in court. Save yourself the hassle, headache and heartache and purchase your wedding gown elsewhere!

Ratings_icons Response to Jean S review

dawn b.

Hi...I am the seamstress at I DO I DO and I happened upon this review from Jean by referral.
Personally, I can not believe she has written such a review. When she first came to see me, she had purchased a bra that worked well and held her in place great. Her dress needed MINIMAL alterations....and NO HEM...she mentions the hem in her review but I did NOT hem the dress. When she came back for her final fitting, the dress did hang quite awful on her, I asked if she changed her bra and she admitted to doing so. I asked her to put the original bra back on and wala...it fit perfect. It was truly gorgeous.
A week later, she called I DO I DO and complained that the dress did not fit correctly, the owner asked her to come in and see me so that I could see what the problem was, but she refused to come in.
I have done bridal work for 33 years, so I do quite a good job, no one is perfect, but I do expect an honest review. Thanks for letting me tell you the seamstress side of the story.

Ratings_icons Great buying experience, less than great alteration experience

Jean S.

I would highly recommend this shop for dress purchase. Super nice and attentive staff, did not feel pressured to buy, did not feel rushed through appointment, and they really went out of their way for me as a dress buying customer.

However, BIG WARNING LADIES, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for alterations. By the time the seamstress at this location was finished with my dress I had done a complete 180 in terms of how I felt about my gown. My gown is a very simple style, no beading, no lace, just simple and beautiful. Unfortunately a dress this simple must be impeccably finished as every little mistake shows. In my case the seamstress gave me back a dress with popped stitches, visible stitches, a lining that was completely uneven and too short in several places (thus causing the dress fabric to pucker and not fall straight to the floor) and overall sloppy workmanship. Her attitude was intimidating and hasty and at the end of the experience I wondered why she even wanted to work with brides. I ended up having to pay someone else to fix the mistakes she made as the dress couldn't be pressed until the hemline was corrected. All of that had to be done this week, one week before my wedding. Truly the worst experience of my entire wedding process! Nothing like spending over $1,000 to end up in tears over how bad your dress looks.

Ratings_icons fastest wedding dress purchase in history!

danielle p.

I went to this store on a Saturday, met with this super sweet girl named Christy who was wonderful. I told her what I was looking for, my price range, style, etc... She took this dress off the rack that was EXACTLY what I had imagined and it was only $300! I tried it on and bought it, done! I was seriously there for like 45 minutes and only that long because I didn't want to take the dress off.

Great experience, the owner even popped by to say hello and help.

Highly recommend it!

Ratings_icons Made me want to cry....

Alyssa B.

I should have gotten the hint when the sales lady called the day before to "confirm" my appt by saying "are you still planning on showing up for your appointment tomorrow? Are you sure?"
When I arrived I explained that I was having an outdoor wedding and wanted something simple without a long train. Apparently those words don't register because the shop girl continued to bring me beaded, laced, 20lb dresses with huge trains, all the while checking her watch. When I did find a consignment dress that I liked the shop girl said "you don't want that one, everyone will know where it's from" (ie David's Bridal). I tried it on anyway. The listed price there was around $350 but I went home and found it online for $170.
And one other thing to mention....they do not let you take pictures. This was very upsetting to me since my mother has not been able to come dress shopping with me. Needless to say, although I still haven't found my perfect dress, but you can bet that I'm not going back here to get it!

Ratings_icons Great Experience!!!

Anonymous

I was very weary about going to I do I do, I had read other reviews that were not so great so I went expecting the worst. This shop is very quaint and I was pleasantly surprised at the selection. My mother and I went, this was our first wedding gown trip and I wasn't expecting much. The selection was outstanding. I was afraid that I would have trouble finding my size (I wear an 18), but that was not a problem at all. I was greeted very warmly and escorted to the back to look at the dresses. They had an extensive consignment selection. I had picked out about 10 dresses, all in my size all in the style I thought I wanted ranging in prices from $300-800. They also have special value dresses that were very inexpensive. The one I had picked out was $400 and that was a brand new dress! The first dress I tried on fit me perfectly and I loved it. I tried on the others to make sure, then the lady helping me suggested I try another and it was even better than the first. I went there with a budget thinking that I could only afford a used dress (which were all beautiful) and I ended up walking out with a new off the rack dress spending less than $600. It was a great experience and very painless, the sales associate was the sweetest and very patient and she even turned down the lights, put on a veil and handed me a bouquet. Absolutely wonderful, I would recommend this place to any bride on a budget or not.

Ratings_icons Great experience!!! Incredible prices - helpful staff - cute store

denverBride N.

I am the bride and went here after visiting 2 other stores in the area. I was a little hesitant knowing this was a consignment shop, but even from the outside to within it is a well kept, cute, warm and welcoming boutique! The staff was very helpful and much more focused on me than on sales like I felt at the other stores.

This was the only store where they actually ASKED my budget...and listened to it! I browsed the consignment room first, which has so many great selections and they were kept nicer than the dresses at the other stores! They are cleaned and maintained regularly and they wouldn't put anything out for sale if it didn't look perfect. The sales lady helped me browse for dresses as well and when she saw me looking at dresses that were above my budget she would nicely suggest that I "might want to take a look at the price tag". Every dress price was marked, which was helpful. They also had sooooo many more designs than I had seen at the other stores which were limited to their designers. Of course they do have designers that they order through like other shops if you don't find an "already loved" dress for you.

I ended up finding my dress which had been worn before, and I only paid $500!!! I even saw some in the $300's if you have a really tight budget. My dress is a style she recommended that I might not have tried on - and it was only half my dress budget amount!! Now I have a beautiful dress that I love, more $$$ to put toward something else in the wedding, and the memory of a nice dress buying experience.

I was a little worried after reading the last review about going with your fiance and not having a entourage of girlfriends with you. My maid of honor happened to be out of town and my fiance stayed about 5 min and left to go to Best Buy next door so I was all on my own. But the woman that was helping me, Carole, was really friendly and helpful. I was able to take my time and browse through the entire collection and she picked out a few that I wouldn't normally try on and I really loved one of them. I stayed past another 30 min after their closing time and that was only because she picked out a few more gowns for me to try on. Their custom order gowns are from 500 - 1500 and there's also a good selection of consignments. Overall a great experience.

Ratings_icons One of the Worst Shopping Experiences Ever

Nicole D. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,754

I should have known when I called for an appointment. I had recently relocated to the DC area and when I said I was coming with my fiance, I was made to feel like a friendless leper by the shop girl over the phone. "Isn't there anyone else?" No- if there was I would bring them. So, I show up on time for my appointment and before I can even start looking the girl who had the following appointment arrives with her entourage of family and friends- 30-60 minutes early= the girl who had the appointment after me, took over the big show room area with the big mirror and I got stuck in a closet-sized area with no place for my fiance to even sit. (He ended up in the car). And I ended up with the second in command shop girl who kept trying to set me up in the most hideous dresses ever. The word 'simple' did not seem to register, and I don't think she actually knew what an empire waist dress is. I didn't find anything and honestly could not wait to get the hell out of the shop in general. I ended up buying from a shop that didn't care that my fiance came along and offered equal access to the good mirrors and lighting. I got married almost 3 years ago, and I am still very angry about the whole experience. The shop girls are obnoxious. If you go, make sure to bring 10 friends so that you can actually get some service and avoid ridicule. If you are thinking about going by yourself or with minimal friends- stay away, far, far away. Do not waste your time- the dresses are not that great and they are fairly over-priced.

I went to this store with a friend while she was shopping for wedding dresses, and found they had a much better and higher quality selection than I expected. I thought we'd end up in some old thrift store, but the store is actually nicer than many 'real' stores we had gone to. I thought the prices were no cheaper than any other stores though.

Ratings_icons Great Selection of Wedding Dresses!

Samantha P. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,908

I went here as part of my dress search with a skeptical attitude, but I was very pleasantly surprised! They have a great selection of used wedding dresses to choose from in all price ranges. The dresses have only been worn once and you could not tell at all. I would have gotten mine there, but I fell in love with one that was out of my price range and just couldn't get past it. All in all, great customer service from the owner. If I could do it over, I would definitely get my dress there.

The store is very cute and warm. I really like the atmosphere. I was expecting an old thrift store and found the people very helpful. There wasn't a wide selection of wedding gowns but I found my dream gown...it was really expensive more than I had bargain for. They had cut off the tags so I couldn't find out what designer it was but knew that was the dress for me. That part I hated because there was no way I could have compared it to other dresses.

PROS: Nice beautiful dresses
CONS: Expensive and small selections for petites

Ratings_icons Resale Shop of Used Wedding Gowns

Janice S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,340

I was excited to see what this shop had to offer. Unfortunately their used wedding dresses were more expensive than a brand new dress is off the internet. For example, I saw a Marisa dress there for $1199. New in a wedding store would have been $1599 but new off the internet was $1150 (including free shipping). I wouldn't recommend the trip there knowing that their prices are not great, especially considering the dresses (many of them) are used.

I found that I do I do Wedding carries a wide range of sizes. I went shopping here with my best friend who couldnt find a wedding dress in her size at other bridal shops we had been to. The owner is very nice and she will help you find just what you need and its almost guaranteed you will find the dress you want in your size and style that you are looking for. The store has a small selection of $400-$1000 dresses and a big selection of used gowns as well. Highly recommended for their service and wide variety of selection of bridal dresses.
