I do not usually make complaints as long as I get what I need and out, but this store gave me none of this. i waited in line just to get a new phone, after I had to deal with a verizon operator. I eventually got a replacement phone after I 2 hours of explaining what is already noted on my account to them. Four hours wasted.

As a retired management employee from Verizon I have always been loyal to my former employeer but I just had an extremetly unpleasant experience. I check my bank balances every day and over the weekend I noticed over $480 in charges from Verizon Pre-paid service in Folsom, CA. I have not been in California in over 25 years. Monday I called my bank and explained the situation. They took all the details and told me to drop by my branch on Tuesday (today) to fill out some paperwork for fraud. In the interium I tried to call Verizon wireless pre-paid customer service. You will NEVER get a person. The number is only good to activiate a phone. Regular Verizon Wireless will not talk to you because it is not about their service. With the Bank on the line as well I finally got through to a live body that would at least talk to us.
So here is the skinny.
1. Verizon Prepaid bills the charges in such a way that the charges CANNOT be reversed.
2. You have to call the fraud line.
3. Customer service will NOT give you or the bank the fraud line.
4. The only thing they will give you is the address, not a phone number to their Corporate HQ in New Jersey. The comment was 'Talk to our legal department'. HA HA HA
5. As a former manager I was going OFF big time (in a professional manner - I know how to chew ass).

So bottom line - The current crop of people at Verizon don't give a crap about Customer Service unless you are buying something - then 'go away boy - don't bother me'

OK - I (or the Bank) will be stuck for $480 bucks but you can bet on thing, they will loose more in revenue from a user that has been with them since Bell Atlantic Wireless, they got on this transaction. I am dropping my wireless and landline service.

As my generation is fond of saying "UP YOURS'

Just a word of warning for folks who want to shop here.

I returned my DROID Incredible in June 2010 after a few weeks. Great phone but just a bit size-intensive for my pockets. I had already gotten the $100 rebate card too, so I took that with me to the store.

During the return, the clerk asked for the (unused) rebate card and kept it, which seemed to make sense.

After getting my refund in the mail for the phone, and seeing it was $100 short, I called the store to ask what the problem was. They said it was $100 short because I had to pay for the rebate card. Yes, the same card that I never unstuck from the paper letter it came in, and the same card that the saleswoman asked for and kept. The store guy, Hector, said there was no reason she would have asked for the card and that therefore she didn't, and I was crazy or something.

So--word of warning. Either people in that store are incompetent, or they will steal from you if given the opportunity. One of the single most frustrating store experiences I've had. They wouldn't ask the saleswoman about it, the wouldn't admit to making a mistake, and meanwhile I basically handed somebody a $100 bill. Which is a lot when you're a student. Anyway--good luck, and be careful shopping there.

He was awesome!

I don't know why they have a phone number listed, as no one answers it and you always get a recording that says to call back "at your convenience", or it rings for awhile then goes to a busy signal.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I have been a customer for 12 years and I have never had issues until I had issues. The wait time at this Verizon is like 1 hour to 4 hours depending on what time you go. I like the Verizon service but will be swtiching because of the horrible customer service at this location.

I've been with Verizon Wireless for 6 years now, and I've had a busted ass signal for 6 years. The only reason I stayed with them is because every time my phone would break I'd have to renew my two year contract to get it fixed. Well, my phone broke again (It's curious that I never dropped my phone, but it always "breaks" the same way, after a certain amount of time the display screen goes black), I went in to get it fixed, I waited almost two hours to see a salesperson and then was told I couldn't fix the phone and couldn't buy a new phone because the account name is under a business and not my name. After six years I still can't make or receive calls from my house and I'm just going to suck up the contract breakage fee and switch to Sprint, because everybody I know with Sprint gets a fine signal where I either have none or the marginally functional but premium-priced "extended network."

Verizon is an excellent company to deal with and I have delt with many different cell phone companies. I never have problems with billing, great plans, good customer service. Great experiences all the way!!

PROS: never any problems with billing, customer service, etc.
CONS: none

We got sucked into the whole "must have a cell phone" movement about four years ago. Since then, we have changed our plan several times and even given our pre-teen son a phone. We tried Cellular One (now SIngular) first, but their network was not sufficient for our needs here in Frederick (that WAS four years ago, though).
Verizon has a lot to offer. We hardly ever have connection problems (except on Braddock Mountain and in Brunswick, but so does eveyone, apparently). The service center is quite nice and if you go during the day, there is no wait. They have also been very helpful on phone repairs more than once.
It is my opinion that while Cingular is trying to lure people in with roll-over minutes and other truly wonderful things I wouldn't mind having, Verizon simply continues to offer service that works. They have the best network. They know it. And you'll pay a little more for it.

Best network for wireless service in this area - period. Long wait times to talk with a salesperson, however you are never rushed once you have their attention. Be prepared to lock into a contract that changes every two years, phone technology changes about every 15 months.
