I've been a regular customer for many years and have always been very happy with the service and the products of their shop. One time my car broke down in front of the store and they spent hours helping me get back on the road. I bought two very happy healthy parakeets from them and all the food and toys necessary to keep them happy, and I wouldn't shop anywhere else. They even shipped an order to me when I couldn't come to their store. Great folks.
I think the past few reviews at Insider Pages are a little unwarranted, as me my family and I have been customers at Chris' Critters for several years and have never had any problems with them. All the staff I have ever dealt with are very knowledgeable and I have often called them before calling the vet. They offer a variety of birds both big and small, food, grooming, cages/toys, as well as a boarding service, which I have used twice so far. Each time, I have come back to very content pets who have been well cared for.
A few months ago, I bought a large cage from Chris's Critters for almost $400. What I didn't know at the time was that the cage was full of rust that had been painted over as well as dents and holes in the tray that you pull out to change the papers.
The feeder cups were also dented and lopsided.
When I asked for a refund, they refused. Then, I
asked for replacement feeder cups and they again
refused, telling me that I'd have to pay for those.
There is no customer service at Chris's Critters.
Once they get your money - you're done - that's it!

The owners of Chris's Critters have a very unfriendly and miserable demeanor. They act as if they're doing you a favor by waiting on you and that
they like birds but not people. This is why I decided
not to purchase a macaw and cage from them. I'd
rather do business with people I trust who make me
feel comfortable and appreciated.

I have wasted hundreds of dollars over the past 10
years or so at Chris's Critters just to be treated like
a piece of dirt recently. I had to return a parakeet
that was fighting with my other parakeet and the guy
with the glasses (Chris's husband) started yelling at
me, saying, "You have an issue with every bird you buy from us! You're a pain in the ass coming in here when we're just about ready to close to try to make a return!"
First of all, I've never complained about or attempted to return a bird that I bought from this rude and unprofessional business. 2nd, it was 6:45
when I walked in there and the people working there
were just standing around doing nothing. I asked the
moron who scolded me if this is the way he treats all
his customers and he replied, "No, just you!"
I then told this jerk that this would be the last time I'd
ever do business with them, and he said, "Good!!!!
I don't give a _ _ _ _!!! You'll be doing me a favor!!!
Go ahead and take your business elsewhere!!! I don't really give a _ _ _ _ !!!"
In view of this deplorable treatment I received as a faithful customer, I would strongly advise anyone to stay away from Chris's Critters and to buy your birds and supplies from an establishment that knows how to treat and appreciate their customers.
