Ordered a lunch special. It was later in the afternoon but the server said it was still available. 25 minutes passed and the server said he would be right out with the food. He came back empty handed and stated "they were out of the lunch special. I ordered something else. He brought the food for the rest of the party 5 minutes later and then said they were out of my second choice. Ordered a club-like sandwich. It came quick but was awful. O:ne of the quarters only had a shred of turkey and a toothpick sizer string of bacon fat. After the long wait and the "third time's a charm" order. No one offered to do anything. It was too much trouble for the server to bring the check so when we asked for it, it came and we were told they adjusted the lunch special off. Only after talking to the manager were we able to get the awful club adjusted off. No apology, it was like they were doing us a fovor by having us as patrons. I would not reccoment this place to anyone nor ever go back.

Pros: Location, outdoor seating

Cons: All else

We took a friend to Ram's Head Tavern for her birthday. We were very disappointed. The service was terrible. The waiter had little or no information about specific meals. Steaks were well done instead of medium rare as ordered. Meals did not have what the menu indicated. Parts of the meals were cold. I will not return.

Ram's Head is one of my favorite business lunch spots. The food is great and located in the historic Savage Mill provides an interesting environment. They also will accommodate large groups as well.

This is a nice place for a lunch break while shopping at Savage Mill. They have an excellent selection of beers to go with the burgers, sandwiches, and salads. My experience has been that they tend to be a little pretentious about what is basically bar food. The service is okay. The biggest drawback for me is that the place is cold and cavernous and tends to be quite noisy.

The place is great. Their food is very good and the service friendly. They are in a really neat location and there is lots of parking. Try a burger!

Rams Head Tavern is a nice restaurant to take the family. It has a great atmosphere and the food is very good. Being in the Savage Mill makes it special - with a terrific view.

This is a very pleasant restaurant, and the service is very good but the food just doesn't measure up. On a recent visit we found that the fish (fish and chips) was a bit soggy, bland and not at all hot and that the burgers were dry and tasteless. The crab soup was the only item we found up to par.

Ram's Head is located in the quaint, artsy Savage Mill shopping center but location is probably the best thing about it.

I ordered the seafood skewers, and it was pretty mediocre tasting. The scallops were mushy and pasty; I don't know if this means they were over or under cooked. I ended up bringing most of it home. As I was carrying it up to my apartment, I caught another whiff of it and realized it smelled exactly like roadkill-- that pungent, decaying, bitter smell near dead animals and garbage. Not very appetizing.

My fiance's shrimp dish was better than mine but still not great. Her rice was pretty hard, like eating tiny rocks.

Our server at Ram's Head was "gruff" to put it mildly. Sort of the "so watcha want?" kind of waitress you see at those tiny diners on tv.

All in all, the food was lousy enough for me to not recommend Ram's Head.
