NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - Just bought a new bed, box spring and headboard. After 30 days the headboard crackles every time we sit on the bed. Called Hub Furniture asking what they would do about it. They indicated that the head board had nothing wrong with it, that it was designed that way. They made no offer to send anyone out to look at the head board, nor would they allow us to return it, or trade up for a better headboard. When we asked the owner of Hub Furniture Sam Novick if he cared that we were an unsatisfied customer he stated that they have been doing business this way for over 100 years.
So if you expect any customer service do not go to Hub Furniture. FURNITURE BUYERS BEWARE OF HUB FURNITURE

I cannot believe how this company remains in business. I have had nothing but headaches from this company from the salesman, to the owner, to the delivery men. I have to say that the salesman, owner, and delivery guys, are all nice people, but they have not a clue about customer service, respect, or boundaries. I was told by the salesman that I was receiving a certain product which there was a pretty big mess around. (and still is). I have had the owner drop off a warehouse guy at my door at &7:30 at night and he told the guy he needed to finish some work which was going to take about 90 minutes then take the bus home. I had to drive the guy home, because it was just cruel to watch how they treated their employee. They stepped in wet paint while delivering and tracked paint all over my brand new carpets. I too, would not give this 1 star. I will say that I am happy with the products that they can get though.

Not worthy of a star!!!
Placed two seperate orders.
1st order/ 2 rockers told 2 week delivery. great worked with our schedule. was picking them up on our way home from ME to MA/ Problem...took 6 weeks/now not able to pick up til August
2nd order/Placed by phone on 5/14/2012 told 4 week delivery to Maine/at time of order,scheduled delivery date with Susan for June 29th/rec'd paper work no date for delivery on sheet.
While inquiring about rockers kept asking about bedroom furniture/now being told can't guarantee my June 29th delivery.
I cancelled order... Susan asked me if I wanted to cancel the rockers as well I said yes. Next day she leaves me a message and tells me she spoke with Sam(owner) and I am not able to cancel. I speak with Sam/ Sam tells me she never would have said that// Now he is applying my depost to the balance of my rockers and I haven't even picked the up. He refused to give me the full credit for the bedroom furniture. Instead is apply the credit to the rockers which I will not be able to pick up until August. What company unless clearly stated charges for merchandise until it is picked up.. He is not an easy person to work with/ does not stand behind what his employees say.
Will never recommend him or do business with this company again.

I have to assume they are operating at a very low profit margin because they are allowing the consumer to choose pieces that are too big for the residence. I ordered a couch I was told would fit. I felt awful as the two delivery men took twenty-five minutes to get it up the two flights of stairs. For their trouble, and that they put my bed together, I tipped each guy $40.00. Next day, I see there is a small hole in the wall above the third floor condo stairway. At that point, the more experienced delivery person had told the new guy to remove the legs. It was a new hole just starting to bleed plaster or concrete or whatever it was.

Called Hub to complement the delivery people but also say they put a small hole in the wall. I was told I would get a call back. Never did. Called again two weeks later and was told they would come out and look at it but would call me back first. They didn't. Three weeks after the second call, I went into the store and explained my story. The woman knew who I was and said she had talked to me. I explained I was waiting for a call or for them to come take a look at the hole. She said the delivery people said they didn't do it.

At this point, I was so angry, I left. I think "they didn't do it" is probably their modus operandi. I liked the salesperson and I like how you can choose the fabrics. The furniture seems durable and is made in the US. Be very careful about the size of pieces you order, and look for damage to the furniture or residence before the delivery people leave.

If there was a star below the first one, HUB Furniture deserves it. Short of calling me a liar when I complained about a damaged piece of furniture they delivered to my home, the people at HUB were rude, unprofessional, and a discredit to the many local business that I support. When I requested a replacement for the damaged item, I was told, "That's not going to happen!" It took 3 months and letters to the Better Business Bureau, the furniture manufacturer, and people at Hub, before the matter was resolved. Buyer beware! If you have dealings with HUB, I suggest that you document every conversation and correspondence you have with them. Better still, shop at a more reputable furniture store.

I will never buy from Hub Furniture again. Two years ago I ordered a couch and chair from them but had them come and measure my apartment before the order was placed to be sure they would fit through the door. They came and said the items would definitely fit so we went through with the order. When they came the couch would not fit and had to be put through the 2nd story window. Now that I am moving, I called to find out if they would help get the couch back out since it was their mistake by saying the couch would fit in the first place. The manager was very rude and short with me and offered zero assistance. Terrible customer service.

I have shopped at Hub furniture since moving to Southern Maine more than 20 years ago. I have never been disappointed in either quality or customer service. We have twice had an issue with our furniture, upholstery not sewn properly, and they took care of it immediately. I ordered a mattress for my Granddaughter there and they didn't have it in stock. They gave us a brand new mattress to use until hers came in! They delivered it for free the next day. Whatever sales person you get there will be most helpful. We love Carmine! He is simply the best.
We have looked in other furniture stores but have always bought from Hub. You just don't get that kind of service anywhere else.

The Hub is the place we always end up at when purchasing furniture. We have been shopping there for over 10 years now and have never been disappointed.They have a wide selection from beds to dining room tables. They are significantly lower than any other place we have looked at furniture for name brand items. If they don't have it they can order it. And the best part is if you have to wait for a piece that has to be delivered from another state you can put it on lay-a-way. Which is such an old school concept but works when you can't pay it all at once or don't want to charge it. Staff is phenomenal and is always willing to help find what you are looking for if they don't have it! I have nothing but fabulous things to say about The Hub in Portland, Maine.

The hub furniture store is a great place to shop for furnitures. I found a wide selection of furnitures at a very competitive rate. You can get branded as well as unbranded furniture. This place is not like an air-conditioned or a polished show room. It?s just like a warehouse where lots of furniture items are stocked. Hence my guess is hey can sell cheap compared to others. I got a dresser from this place and they delivered it to us as well as assembled the dresser for us. The sales staff was good and provided information promptly. I can suggest taking a look at this shop before making your final furniture purchase. Ofcourse if you like something at another store you may not have the same quality or brand at this place.
