My wife ordered a dress, paid 100% down and two weeks later was told the dress was ruined in transit. She went in to try to find something off the rack, received no help from the owner and asked for her money back. The owner told her there were no refunds, even for a product we never received, only store credit. When I went in to talk to the owner she basically said "Too bad" and walked away. Our next call will be to the Maine Attorney General's office. STAY AWAY from this store.

First, I have to say, some of the things in the some other reviews are outright lies. Dead birds and bugs? Not so much. Is the store a little dated and not as glitzy as some others? Yes. But if the trade-off is having a selection of the finest designers to choose from - I will take glitzy dresses over glitzy decor any day. I was in couture heaven with her selection! I actually have a whole new appreciation for these dresses after she educated me about the different designers, fabrics, etc. as I was trying them on. I daresay, I might feel a little comfortable with being able to identify some dresses by designer just by looking at them after everything she taught me. And it's true, there is nothing quite like the feel of a pronovias... there simply is no comparison.

As far as customer service goes - I am confident that the amount of time I spent in her stores, the number of times, I would probably not have been as welcome as other stores. In fact, I felt rather rushed after spending 2 hours at another store. I have been to her store about 4 times in the last 3 weeks, spending as much as 3 or 4 hours in there at a time, with my maid of honor trying on dresses. Each time she has greeted me with a warm smile and a big hello, even if she was busy with someone else and then would make it a point to come say hello and check on me and my friend (who is a bridesmaid). Like another review on here, she also stayed open late for me. When I apologized for it being closing time, she told me not to worry about it and take my time - and actually meant it.

When I was torn between 3 dresses, she called her seamstress on the spot and made an appointment for me to have a consult. And then she let me take the dresses to the seamstress - no questions asked and without having to sign my life away. When I inquired about specific dresses whose lines she didn't carry, she called another store to get pricing and to see if she could have the dress brought to her for me to try on - and then said she would order it for me if I decided I wanted it. I am seriously scratching my head over any reviews about poor customer service, especially now I as I read what I wrote and realize I am kind of a pain in the butt. She even hugged me when I left!

During my quest for THE dress, I never felt pressured to make a decision, nor did I ever feel like I was being steered towards the pricier dresses. Pat and Katherine were both honest in their opionions and encouraged me to keep going if I still wasn't sure. In fact, I ended up finding the perfect dress that was several hundred dollars lower than my budget.

Her associate, Katherine, is just as great. She introduced us to their discount/discontinued dress racks (hence our visits being 3 to 4 hours). When we apologized for how long we were there and the number of dresses we were trying on her response was "don't be! We love that you appreciate the dresses and are having so much fun trying them on". She even got caught up in it and would find dresses for us that were our size and seemed made for us. I ended up buying 4 dresses - a great "little black dress" for a wedding I am attending in March and then 3 other fabulous dresses I plan to wear the weekend I get married. Jim Hjelm and Watters & Watters for $25? Yes, please!

Don't bother, this store is filthy, owner is not professional. If you do dare to enter the twighlight zone make sure you know her refund policy-she keeps it all, no matter the reason-no refunds. She will give you a credit but good luck trying to get her to give you proof of such credit. Patricia Burke is the worst "business person" I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with! I think previous reviews are family members.

When Kevin popped the question I knew immediately I would find my gown at Patricia Buck Bridal. I have been getting gowns there (prom, semi-formals, balls, etc...) since high school. Whether you're on a budget or not Patricia Buck Bridal has a dress for you! Known as Maine's largest Bridal Store Patricia Buck has always been proud to carry quality gowns and dresses at competitive prices.
Pat Buck has always given me her full attention and has always actively listened to my needs as a customer. In fact, I have always wanted a Mantilla Veil and was bummed when I realized how pricey they are and thought I may have to opt for a regular veil. However, Pat found a Pronovias Mantilla (which is the maker of my gown...PERFECT) she had in stock which she is selling to me at a very fair price! I was ECSTATIC!
I would highly recommend Patricia Buck Bridal for your wedding gown shopping experience.

I went to Patricia Buck Bridal starting in 02/2011. From the moment I walked in Patricia was always available to answer my questions and was very helpful. She knows her gowns! I walked in on one occasion and asked to see all gowns with poet sleeves. She brought me a beautiful Pronovia gown. The gown needed to be altered and pressed. She immediately called her seamstress Jeanne Anderson (Snip & Tuck) who came over to her shop on a Saturday afternoon and went through the alterations for me. I purchased the gown, left it at Patricia Buck Bridal to hold until my seamstress appointment a few weeks later. Patricia ordered a lace up for the back of my dress and even took it over to the seamstress so I did not have to miss work. On another occasion I went in and was desperate for a pair of shoes, as another dress fitting was that same day. I needed a pair of shoes with a half inch heel. Patricia loaned me a pair of shoes with half inch heels to take to the seamstress appointment. I later bought the shoes because they went with the dress so well! I took the shoes back to Patricia on a Saturday and told her I needed them dyed and ready for pick up the following Wednesday. The shoes were ready for pick up on Tuesday. I have to say I read the reviews and I myself was concerned, but after so many good experiences with Patricia I would not hesitate to recommend her Bridal Shop. Thank You Patricia and Thank You Jeanne for making my wedding dress shopping a memorable experience.

After going to few bridal shop in Maine and New Hampshire I finally went to Patricia buck bridal I was terriefied to go there, but someone told me to try it anyway. so I did, I dealt with Patricia herself and found out she is really lovely a little red head lady that was very charming. the collection is huge, I went at the end of the day, she was nice enough to stay late for me. I told her exactly what I want, that lady knows her stuff, she went and got me two dresses that I liked a lot. probably I will pick one of them,

I believe sometimes review are hard and satisfied people are satisfied so they do not take the time to review, this business has been around for many years, and many people have recommended that store, go and judge for yourself. the best experience is your own experience. I suggest you deal with Patricia only she is kind and knowledgeable. and will show you at least what you ask for and will not try to sell you something you do not want.

I read the reviews and wonder if they actually set foot in the place. It is a great place to shop for wedding dresses. Patricia the owner is a dynamo who knows more about dresses than any shop I'd been in. She was so helpful and nice. She has a huge selection of dresses and very good prices. I found at least three dresses that I absolutely love. I am going back with my mom to make the final selection.

My sister got engaged and it was a big surprise to all of us. She set her wedding date for two months and she didn't have any time to be picky, but she was picky and didn't like anything she tried on.. She and I kept shopping for her wedding dress and we found Patricia Buck bridal in Augusta. I was sure this trip was ANOTHER waste of time, but Patricia took my crazy sister into her racks and racks of dresses and I made her promise not to let her out until she found a dress. (Let someone besides me deal with her...lol)
I was shocked when she actually liked the first dress she tried on, and then the second, and then the third. We should have come here first. Bottom line, bride is beyond happy with her dress and it didn't break the bank. Patricia was wonderful, patient and funny. My sister is a happy camper!! She feels like a princess!!
Thank you!

After reading the reviews I was very nervous about this business. I needed to have a dress sent to me a couple of states away, and I was a last minute replacement in the bridal party. After reading about mixed up note cards etc. I was afraid the phone call was going to be a disaster. Katherine was AMAZING she knew exactly what I was talking about referred immediately to the bride on a first name basis, and was so incredibly helpful! She even called the bride to make sure, and called me back so there was absolutely no confusion, Completely professional, helpful, and efficient and didn't once make me feel like I was an inconvenience!!! I'm thinking we have a few bridezillas in the comment mix here. If ur someone that reads these reviews before picking an establishment...please give them a try for yourself and disregard any bad reviews from over stressed and under qualified brides to be!!!

we just bought the brides dress and bridesmades dresses through patricia bucks bridal shop and the service was extremely unproffessional. kathleen asked us to bring cash to finish paying for the dresses while patricia was on vacation and told us her life story to try to help us make up our mind to bring cash. she said she was sick of not getting paid. that tells me two things 1 that patricia is not takeing care of her responsibilities and 2 that kathleen is takeing money behind patricias back. either way it was an uncomfortable experience dealling with the whole thing i did feel bad for kathleen but i certainly did not want to get caught in the middle of the whole thing i would not recomend this place to anyone. all this is only to ad to all the other reveiws on here which talk about the lowsy lighting, dirty appearence and overall lowsy proffessional attitude of the personell from what i can tell on here from the reveiws here that are positive it appears that they liked the place because they happened to find what they wanted bought it and left they didnt have to deal with them more than one time for what they needed mostly just prom dress stuff not wedding which their name is made of patricia buck BRIDAL do not go there

DON'T GO HERE!!! Customer service lousy ONE example being my friend was told to throw her wedding gown (not the sample) over a dirty plastic chair in a dirty changing room by the sales lady instead of the sales lady coming in & assisting in hanging it back up, the place is very old & filthy. most merchandise VERY outdated. Avoid this shop!

This bridal shop did a great job for us.

They have an amazing selection of dresses. Gorgeous gowns. You can easily get things off the rack which is what we did for everyone in the bridal party since we only had one attendant. We did buy our flower girls dress, and both mothers gowns. The tuxedos too.
we did a lot of looking on line, and also visited David's in Portland and were very disappointed in them. They had nothing in stock and everything had to be ordered. There dresses seemed very cheaply made. I wanted to try on the dress and not have to send it back if it did not fit.

At Bucks Bridal the customer service was very good.

They are very friendly. You do have to take the initiative to make your appointments for alterations, and stay on top of things.
They won't bug you about alterations, etc. You have to be responsible to make sure things are being done.

Terrible!!! Records keep on index cards, incorrectly and resulted in a major mess. When approached about the mistake they blamed it on the customer! Unless you want to be pulling your hair out the day before your wedding, don't bother! I'd rather chance it with online ordering!

For brides looking for high end designer gowns, there is a new store in Gardiner, Maine, just 10 minutes from Augusta. Sweet Love Bridal Boutique carries Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, Cymbeline, Pronovias, Melissa Sweet, and more. The gowns are both new and used, which allows brides to get these designer brands at a lower price. They are also accepting gowns on consignment for brides who want to give their wedding dress a second life.

I have visited Particia Buck Bridal last week (first week of feb 2010) and had a great time. The store is located on a nice street in Augusta, Maine (we are from MA) and there is free parking on the street right in front of the door. Not knowing what to expect we were absolutely blown away by the size of the store. It has two floors, the upper floor has a very large amount of wedding dresses, mother of the bride, flowergirl and accesories. The lower floor which is also huge, has bridesmaid, tuxedo and prom dresses. We were greeted at the door by a nice lady (don't know her name) and asked for Mrs. Buck. She was downstairs with a group of 8 ladies but helped us as soon as she could. All the time she was friendly, helpful and just plain sweet/warm. She apparently has been in the business for over 30 years and I could tell that she absolutely knows her stuff. It's strange to read the other reviews, I had to check twice to make sure I visited the same place! I think your exprience will very much depend on what you want and expect from a bridal store. If you want that contemporary Kleinfeld type of city experience where all bridal consultants wear sleek black outfits, stick you in a fitting room, let you try on 5 dresses they picked for you for half an hour and want you to make a quick decision so they can get their commission and move on to the next customer then Patricia Buck Bridal is not the place for you. If you want to browse a little, get genuine and professional help, choose from a huge selection of dresses and not feel rushed, then you will definitely like this place. I was very impressed by the selection. I saw everything from higher priced dresses like Pronovias, Reem Acra etc to the more affordable brands. As far as the bridesmaid dresses. I saw all major brands like Alfred Angelo, Eden, Belsoie, Mori Lee, Jim Hjelm, Vera Wang, Dessy, well, you name it. Mother dresses brands like Avanti, Jade etc. I also saw prom dresses but since I wasn't there for those, I don't know what brands. Anyway, if you need to outfit your entire party in one stop and get good help then I highly recommend this place!!

I actually signed up to write a review. I went to the store after finding "the dress" but not being able to afford it. I found out Patricia is the only one in the area who stocks Pronovias so I went. The help consisted of pointing me to the area of Pronovias dresses. No suggestions of similar dresses or anything... Well I found a gorgeous Pronovias dress and ordered it in March, for an October Wedding. I had to keep calling for an update come September and called three times before anyone got back to me. My also called with the power of the credit card and finally got a ship date. Turns out the dress was in the store that day, but nobody told me. I called on that day to find out when it would arrive and was informed that I had a fitting appointment for the next day in the middle of the day! (Hello, I work and it would have been nice if someone had told me.) My mom was coming up the next day so we made the hour long trip after getting the seamstress to schedule me. Turns out she didn't have time to pin me, and "didn't realize I was there for a fitting" (why would I make an appointment to come look at my dress.....). She then told me not to worry, to come back in two weeks and she would fit me. (My wedding was two weeks from the proposed fitting date). She was up to her elbows in someone's dress who was getting married THE NEXT DAY! That scared us, so we took the dress and had it altered elsewhere. Patricia valiantly tried to get me to leave the dress but we found someone else who could see us in a few days. (I had also seen the poor reviews about alterations, so it actually worked out.)

The dress is beautiful but they have horrible record-keeping and don't call you back.

I spent about 3 hours this weekend at P. Buck Bridal and have to say, I think these reviews are off. Yes, there isn??t anyone fawning over you when you are trying on dresses ?? but you also don??t pay the markup you would in other bridal salons. I talked to the owner for quite a while on the phone and in person and she was very professional and helpful and answered all my questions. If you let her know what you are looking for, and $ range ?? she will show you to a bunch of dresses. I had a great experience there ?? knowing before I went that it wasn??t going to be a ??Say Yes to the Dress? type experience.

Horrible customer service....beautiful dresses but I would not suggest doing anything but buy the dress here, if you need alterations go somewhere else.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen and the worst part is there is always a problem that they have to fix so you are constantly having to deal with them. DO NOT GO HERE!

While shopping for a white graduation dress for my daughter, we looked through their stock ourselves. We found a couple of pieces she liked, but not "the" dress. Then Catherine came and talked to her for a few minutes to find out what she liked about the dresses she had tried on. Within 15 minutes, my daughter had "the" dress and we were on our way!

.

My wedding party purchased 5 bridesmaid dresses from Patrica Buck. My maid of honors dress came in too small. They refused to fix the problem. They told my maid of honor she must have gained weight. They sooshed her in to the dressing room so other customers wouldn't hear her complain. She never corrected the problem and now we have to pay for alterations. WORST customer service I have ever seen!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER go there!

I almost didn't have a wedding dress because of the lack of professionalism and customer service at this place. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I cannot say ANYTHING positive about this store or the staff. My dress arrived late and when I put it on, discovered that it had never been altered, as we requested. The "second" dress we got from Patricia Buck was altered poorly. I could barely get the store to call me back about the status of my dress after spending thousands of dollars. Total disaster.

I?d like to say a good word about this store, and to state that I am so glad that I did not pay too much attention to the derogatory remarks I read on the online sites. Thanks to Patricia Buck my daughters wedding was so amazingly beautiful and I am so delighted that I just had to drop this quick line to say so. From the time we walked in we were treated kindly. Kathleen, by her humorous and patience ways handled all the fittings and really helped to discern which ensemble would work best for the brides? maids. My daughter is picky and can be short to work with, but Pat and Kathleen were so kind and tender that we all had great fun putting the whole wedding together. I can?t say enough good about Patricia Buck -- Thank-you my dear for making my daughters day so wonderful

Pros: easy to find - no appointments needed - best selection ever

Cons: the building itself is old and looks a little dindy in winter

My wedding was to be in June of 2005. I went to Patricia Buck on a Saturday in November, 2004 and it was not busy, actually I was the only one in the store. They only had two fitting rooms, well actually one large one with a sheet in between to make it two. That was okay with me cause unlike David's Bridal, I could move around and have two to three other people in with me. (it was the size of a good sized bathroom) After trying on numerous dresses, I found "the one". It's funny cause I had actually seen it in a bridal magazine and couldn't believe they had it in the store. I ordered my dress, veil, and tiara and put 50% down. Well long story short, a little suprise named Avery was born 7 months later and the wedding was postponed. I never paid the other 50% for my dress and never got to wear it. After my daughter was born we attempted to get married again...this time my husband to be got deployed to Iraq so we had a quickie wedding at his mother's(no dress). Now, I had always dreamed of the fairytale wedding and It seemed as though I wasn't going to get it and I still didn't have my dress!!! Katherine, of David's Bridal, was so nice when I called her the second time to tell her the wedding was off. She sent me a nice note letting us know she was thinking of us and that her church was praying for us. What a wonderful person!!

I was recently asked to be a bridemaid in my girlfriend's wedding and that got me to thinking about my wedding dress(still at Patricia Bucks), so I made a call and got Katherine on the phone. I explained my situation and she was going to check to make sure the dress was still there. IT WAS!!! So now, five years later, married with two children I'm finally going to go pick up my dress and bring it home. It's not altered or anything and I have to lose about 60 pounds to fit into after having two kids, but one day when we renew our vows...I CAN'T WAIT!!!

What wonderful people and customer service!

II had read the reviews and was leery of going all the way to Augusta but my daughter had done some web research and found that Patricia Buck's Bridal was the only shop in Maine that carried Pronovias. I called to make an appointment but was told that they didn??t make appointments.(which is not what I read in the reviews)
It was a cold wet snow-slush day, when we arrived there was a basket of fresh clean slippers to wear. The sales lady (Kathleen) that helped us was so nice, in fact, the entire staff at Patricia Buck??s Bridal are nice. Patricia helped us to organize the whole wedding, we had the grooms family coming in from Texas and she not only fitted the whole party and provided tux??s for the men, and fitted the brides maids with alterations in great time. She also made sure that we had maps of the Cape Elizabeth area (where the wedding was) and gave us some wonderful suggestions for lodging.
The building was old but clean and while we were there a gal came in that had small children and Patricia lead them to a small area with a table & toys, and put on a children??s video!
Patricia Buck is warm and professional, the staff is very knowledgeable and they do great work in helping with all aspects of the ??whole?? wedding.
I was amazed at the extensive stock the she has: beautiful designer gowns in both new and discontinued, a wide range of flower girl dresses and gorgeous brides maid dresses, and I was quite impressed with the mother of the bride dresses. I got a sleek ??Ursula of Switzerland? and my daughter, thanks to Patricia had the most beautiful wedding!!
I would highly recommend to anyone in a dizzy over a wedding to allow Patricia to help you put it all together.

My mother, Aunt, and I went to Patricia Buck's a couple of weeks ago to look for a Mother of the Bride dress for my wedding in July. We had read the reviews/warnings so we were prepared. All the negative reviews we read were right on the money! When we first entered the store we were told that we ha to take our shoes off and put on scuzzy dirty slippers because they didn't want to get the floor dirty. I guess would be understandable if the store was remotely clean! Our shoes would not have gotten the floor as dirty as our socks would have gotten if we didn't have our shoes on. They focus was more on the shoes than offering us customer service. Besides the dirt that causes my mother to have an allergic reaction in her eyes, the store was a disaster with boxes everywhere, dirty mirrors that did not allow you to see what you really looked like in the dress, outdated selection and dresses without pieces. To make matters worse my mother actually found a dress she liked but it had been discontinued in 2005... 4 years ago!! Nothing like not updating your selection! Once we had figured out that the dress was not being made anymore, Patricia said she was going to call the company to see if they might still have some available and she would call my mother back. She never got in touch with her and as I said it has been about 2 weeks.

So I guess to make a long story short do not go to this place!!!

I found my experience to be totally different from what I read here. The staff was helpful and professional. I found the perfect dress at a better price than I found at another store. The owner was so nice to all of us, including my mother in law who is a little...umm...demanding. My dress arrived and it is gorgeous. No problems with the alterations or the bridesmaid dresses. All in all, I'd give Patricia Buck Bridal a big thumbs up and a big thank you!

I went to Patricia Buck Bridal because it was the only Wedding gown Store within 20 miles of my home. She does have tons of dresses and the first lady I had experience with *Kathleen?* was nice and helpful. I tried on several dresses one day and they wrote down the ones I liked on a file card in pencil. They said that they'd keep track of those dresses so I'd be able to try them on again when I came back with my bridal party. Well I came back a month later with one of my bridesmaids, wanting to show her the two that I liked. Kathleen was not there so I had to deal with Patricia. Patricia couldn't find either of the dresses, but she was sure that my second choice gown was in the building... somewhere. The first choice gown she had no clue even if it was still in the store or if it had been sold. I described the dress to her and she couldn't recall a dress that looked like that. So I left without showing my bridesmaid the dress I liked.

I had to go to Patricia Buck's one more time after that experience. One of my friends was getting married and she'd asked me to be a bridesmaid. I went to Patricia Bucks, again cause it was the closest shop, and ordered a dress - she had me try one on that was quite similar to it so I'd know that I'd be happy with it. That was fine - I ordered the dress in March. She told me that they'd call me when my dress was in. So I waited for the call. Finally near the end of June I went in and asked about my dress. Patricia, unpleased she had to even talk to me, told me my dress had been there for over three weeks. So I asked for the dress and they had trouble finding it. They finally found it and told me to go down stairs to make an appointment with the Seamstress. She didn't have any openings until the end of July and she was going to have trouble getting me in for the first and final fitting before my friend's wedding. Evereything went ok with the fitting appointments, however the alterations were barely satisfactory... the cups they had to put in the chest were a little cockeyed and made my chest look weird. There was also a bit of puckering at the side where she had to take it in. I don't think I'll be going back when I finally need to get my own wedding gown. I'll be checking out Brenda's in Waterville.

WARNING: My experience with Patricia Buck's Bridal was far from pleasant. Patricia had offered to order a dress that was not in stock under the condition I place a 50% deposit. At the time of order she had educated me I would be able to receive a refund or place the funds towards an additional dress if I was not satisfied...well, she happened to order the wrong style (similar to the dress I had requested) followed by a "refusal" for return/refund. The situation gets worse...she also failed to notify me when the wedding party's dresses were in. She ordered 4 sizes too large for the maid of honor and 2 sizes too small for another dress. She refused to admit her mistake or discount the alterations. One of the bridesmaids flew in from Atlanta for an altertion appointment & had to wait a few hours for the seamstress who had "forgotten the time scheduled". Needless to say I am still in a dispute with the shop regarding the refund for deposit. Patricia's excuse for not following through with her words were "My oil bill was over 6k a month this past winter and I can't afford to be sending dresses back". The staff at the shop (especially Patricia) are rude, unorganized & should not be in business.

My sister is getting married this Saturday. We ordered 6 Bridesmaids dresses and all of the sizes were ordered wrong even though they were measured there. They then proceeded to try and charge for alterations to the all the dresses (even though they had ordered the wrong sizes.) One of the bridesmaids lives in Georgia and was here in April to get fitted. A week before the wedding the dress had still not been altered. (In August) Finally, they told my sister they had to order the dress she wanted to try onto her Credit Card but if she didn't want it they wouldn't charge her for it. This was stupid on her part but she ordered it and then decided she didn't want that one for her big day. Needless to say they are charging her for a dress she's not even going to wear. My recommendation....Don't waste your time here.

Pros: Good Selection of Dresses

Cons: Lousy service and they try to rip you off

I am the mother of the groom and ladies I would highly recommend this shop. I travelled 60 miles from
Portland to this shop because the bridal shops in Greater Portland and Southern Maine lacked selection of dresses for mothers. Frankly some shops in Portland wouldn't give me the time of day because I wasn't the bride. Yes, I was a little apprehensive about travelling 60 miles because of the few bad reviews I see on this site, but ladies believe me it is worth the trip. You need to experience this place yourself. Granted it is not the glitz and glitter of a Portland shop but the service was impeccable and the selection of dresses for moms was great. Kathleen was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and caring. This shop has it all.
Bridal dresses, bridal party dresses, shoes, undergarments and yes mother of the bride dresses and not just a size 6. Many other larger sizes as well. There is a seamstress on site and they even dye your shoes to match your dress right on site. I was very impressed with Kathleen. I was not rushed and she made me feel special. After reading the other reviews, I can only say "1 or 2 bad apples don't spoil the whole bunch". I would suggest that you take the time to visit this shop and ask for Kathleen. You won't be disappointed.

I have been to Patricia Buck on a couple of occasions with friends and for myself. Let me tell you...they are incredibally rude there. Especially if you simply want to check out the inventory first. That seems to be their sign NOT to have a second of their time for you thereafter. Lord, forbid that you mention that you are on a budget. You are sent into the dark and musty basement to look at the old smelly out dated dresses. Luckily we recently had a new bridal shop open in Augusta. Brenda's on the lower half of Water Street. I took my daughter in there just to browse the new shop and Brenda was super nice, attentive and had a nice selection of affordable dresses and gowns. This shop is bright, not over crowded, but still with a large selection including catalogs. It was not overwhelming and was a very relaxed atmosphere. While speaking with Brenda she stated to me that all of her customers are treated equal whether they were spending $50 or $50,000. I believe this to be true as we were simply browsing. She also handles everything from dresses to alterations, DJ service to photographers...they do it all. I couldn't be happier to have her in our city. No more nightmares at Patricia Buck!!

I bought my wedding dress at Patricia Buck Bridal. So far, it's been an ok experience...The lady who helped us was very attentive. So the store looks a little crappy (looks like old sheets hung up for the dressing room curtains, very cluttered, not very well lit) but don't let that put you off. Luckily, I bought my dress off the rack so I didn't have to worry about any ordering problems...I did however, refuse to buy my bridesmaids dresses there. After I paid off the dress I went to pick it up immediately, I wanted it out of that store after hearing so many horror stories! When I told the lady I just wanted to take it and do the alterations elsewhere closer to home, she desperately tried to convince me otherwise. I was firm and in the end, she let me take the petticoat I would be "renting" from them and a new bra home with me so that the alterations would be right. She told me all I had to do was send back the petticoat and bra by mail the following week, or bring it back in person. I was very surprised and happy she let me do that since it is against store policy. As it turns out, I couldn't find anyone else to do the alterations in the time I needed and had to bring the dress back to the store to have their in-house seamstress do it. :( Not very happy about it but I scheduled my appointment with the seamstress and came back to have my first fitting. Turns out, when they let me borrow the petticoat, it was scheduled to be used by ANOTHER BRIDE AT HER WEDDING! It wasn't there because I had it! I felt SO horrible! And when I borrowed the bra, the lady ordered one for me that was a better fit. When I came back for the fitting (over a month later) the bra still wasn't in. I had to do my fitting without it! Tomorrow I go back for my final fitting...and I'm more than a little nervous. The seamstress already called me at work yesterday to tell me that my dress wouldn't be ready by our 10:30 appointment time, and could we please move it to 1:30? Sure lady, I've already rearranged my work schedule, but I'll do it again because you couldn't finish your end on time! I have very mixed feelings about this place...Be careful!

My daughter was getting married. She and her two sisters went in to Patricia Buck to look for dresses. This was to be a formal wedding and what they were looking for was more important then the price at that time. However, when they went in they were directed away from the dresses they were looking at. They were told that unless they were really serious about buying, that these dresses were two expensive for just trying on. Reminded me of a scene from "Pretty Woman" - "You work on commission? Mistake, big mistake." They were so put off that they walked out the door. As it turns out they bought their whole bridal party of 8 bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride and wedding gown at ONE shop in Manchester, New Hampshire. And people wonder why we don't buy locally.....

Ok folks...I wrote a previous review about my horrible experience at Patricia Bucks (kb630). The nightmare has now ended, but not without a HORRIBLE ENDING. I thought I would give an update. The bridesmaids' dresses finally arrived the first of May. A few weeks ago, my bridesmaid who lives in Virginia called and requested that her dress be shipped. She was assured that her dress would be shipped the following day and that they would call with the tracking number. They never called and the dress never arrived. After several phone calls to the bridal shop and no dress - my bridesmaid finally called me. Since I didn't think it could get any worse - I emailed Patricia and told her I would be calling her on Tuesday at 11am and I would call every few hours after that until I receive a tracking number for the bridesmaid dress. Tuesday finally arrived and at 11am I called - only to hear that "this number is no longer accepting phone calls." AMAZING! I was so irrate, I left work and my father and I drove over an hour to the bridal shop. Upon arrival I am told that the bridesmaid dress was "accidentally" thrown out with the trash. They continued to provide excuse after excuse as my bloodpressure continued to rise. Finally, they answered my question and told me that the dress would arrive June 20th and would be overnighted to my bridesmaid - delivering the information as if it were not a big deal. Well, my wedding is on JUNE 30th!!! I flipped out - so my father had to take over. They finally gave us a refund for the dress - but it wasn't easy. My father basically refused to leave until he WITNESSED the refund in action. They continued to tell us we were making a BIG mistake because no bridal shop would be able to get us the dress in time. Patricia was WRONG again - a bridal shop in CT was kind enough to go out of it's way and call the designer. After speaking to several supervisors - my bridesmaid's dress will now arrive on June 8th. STAY AWAY!! They are AWFUL and RUDE!!!!
