I love to be here the first time someone walks in. "Wow" they say, as they survey 2,000 square feet of floor to ceiling tools. Vintage planes, antique braces, blacksmithing tools, antique car jacks, older power tools, wrenches, screw drives, saws and more! Literally hanging from the rafters. I look at them and smile: There are still 3 more floors!
The owners of Libery Tool travel to estate sales, tool auctions, and private collector sales all over the Eastern USA... so you don't have to. Its all collected in sturdy 3-story building weighted done by literally tons and tons of tools, books, magazines, and furntiure. Plus, a scary basement and a tool annex across the street. Prices are reasonable.
This shop is THE source for serious antique tool collectors. Worth a trip no matter how far you live. A side benefit - no matter how many tools you have collected, you can always point out to your spouse that you have LESS than Libery Tool.
If you are looking for vintage/antique home or restaurant decor, this is also a great place. How about a giant wrench above the fire place? Or 3' long blacksmith pliers for the dentist's office?
If you spouse or partner is not into tools, there is a wonderfull Liberty Graphics T-shirt shop (with coffee), a small cafe, and a museum just across the street. There is another, smaller antique store just a block away and a small yarn shop. A great place to visit! Plan to stay a while.
Open weekends only during the winter. So call first in the off-season. 2 other locations are nearby - one in Bar Harbor.

PROS: Best antique tool selection anywhere on the planet!
