First of all, we were seated at a booth with the table touching our chests - extremely uncomfortable and had to be moved to a table with chairs for some breathing room. My wife ordered the broiled scallops and I requested the prime rib with a fresh lobster side. After all, we were in Maine for the first time. But to my dismay I was told by our waitress that they had no lobster because the prices were too high. The bread arrived cold and unappealing, as if it was off the "day old" rack at Walmart, not what I expected from a restaurant labeled. as "French". How about a warm, hard crusted specialty bread for a first impression?
To their credit the salad had a variety of leafy greens but the balsamic vinigerette over powered the salad and was extremely strong. It also amazes me why some restaurants continue to put tomatoes in a salad that are unripe, rock hard and tasteless. There are several flavorable grape or cherry varieties available.

I ordered my prime rib medium and it came very rare and luke warm, something an astute waitress should have never delivered. My mash potato blend was translucent and tasted as if made from reconstituted dryed spuds. The waitress responded to my meat complaint and quicky returned the prime rib medium on the same plate with the same old rare juices that had run into the "suspect" mashed potatoes. My wife's scallops were plentiful but were over cooked and tasteless. The crumb topping also contibuted to the dryness of the dish.
We have eaten in several places around the country and this is the first time I have been moved enough to write a review for anything. By the way, the review, "Yummy Meals" by Lucille H. sounds more like a radio ad. Hummmm..... The atmosphere was very nice with well appointed furnishings, but that is where our good experience stopped. Hopefully the management will take this review to heart, pay attention to details or please change the sign outside that says "Fine Dining". I'm going to be in town on business for 8 days and would have returned with clientele had our experience been better.

The bread basket was served nearly cold w/various bread pieces that looked like leftovers they needed to get rid of. My salad was okay (not as fresh as I'd like), but honestly; Burger King or McDonalds makes a much better one. My husbands Lobster tail was just two bites, and his mini steaks were the equivalent of 4 bites. Thank goodness his baked potato was an average size; because the rest of his meal was a snack. The only good thing was the pleasant waitress. I will never go back to Rolandeau's, nor recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My experience at Rolandeau's was not so good. The only salad dressings they had were creamy. The one that my husband did order was balsam vinegar and it tasted like that's all they poured on the salad. He couldn't eat it. Then I ordered the lobster and it was so tough I couldn't chew it. They brought us bread and it was burnt then we asked for another and that came burnt. Our twice baked potatoes were cold and tasted horrible. I will never go back. What a waste of money!

My experience at Rolandeua's has been good. I only had one incident when my food came to me cold. I would go back and have.
The price was reasonable.

Rolandeau's is the place to go after a busy work week. The cocktails are made to perfection and the food is excellent. Rolandeau's specializes in Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday evenings. It is excellent! The house dressing (garlic) is marvelous. The staff is very accommodating. Rolandeau's is also open during the week for lunch, fine dining with great prices. Go and enjoy the experience.
