My husband & I visited this place on7/18/10.It was the first time in our 28 years of marriage that we did not leave a tip.We enjoy going out to eat and have been to many restaurants. We were seated before 4 other tables and finally got our meal, when the people seated after us had almost finished their meal(and the other tables had been served) My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and I their special, lobster cakes. My husband's order was wrong and stated that. With the length of time it took for our simple order, he told her he would just eat what was given to him.At that point he just wanted to leave there. We must of had the same waitress, that the person who commented below did.She was evasive and pretty much blaming it on the back staff. Instead of just adjusting the bill, when presented it, she asked if we wanted her to go to the back to alter it.We just paid and left, never to return again. We have a place up in Maine will never refer this place to anyone.

Great location, terrible food and service??:
We were referred to this restaurant by the visitor information center on the Maine Turnpike. We had family visiting from away and wanted a convenient location to showcase the Maine coastline and sample local seafood. From the reviews here, I guess it would be hard to say the the new management is the cause of the problem, but I do wish visitor center personnel had mentioned the management had changed in the middle of the season. Anyway, service was slow, we were the second table to be seated, followed by 7 or 8 smaller parties over the next 20 minutes. All of the smaller tables who ordered after us were served first and many had paid and left before we received our lunch. Out waitress had an excuse for everything, but could/did not make things right, like get our order to us in under an hour, other waitstaff forced themselves past our chairs as they served other tables, repeatedly bumping into and brushing my arm and shoulder as they forced their way between the cramped tables. No apologies. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the odor of dirty and damp carpeting along with all of the hand written signs warning patrons that no coupons or discounts from the previous management would be honored. I think if discount coupons are what they new management is afraid will bring their business to its' knees financially, they should take a look at the rest of the operation. The bar menu standing in the center of the table was filthy when we arrived, with dried on ketchup and greasy bits of food attached. I asked that it be removed and was told it was the night staff's job to clean them. Who cares? It was disgusting. Fortunately our visiting family was not that familiar with quality new england seafood so they were reasonably happy with the most mediocre fried clams and "white fish" advertised as haddock, that I have eaten in many years. The onion rings were slightly above average, the clam chowder straight from a commercial can with the addition of some large, tough pieces of clam not cooked through. Prices were well above reasonable, even if the food had been acceptable, but way out-of-line for the portions and sub-par quality food the kitchen was dishing out and the poor service the waitstaff was delivering.

I would maybe visit again for a drink from the upstairs bar just to enjoy the impressive view of the Kittery Point harbor, but it is a shame it is wasted on such a poor dining establishment. If you are going, I would head there soon since if this is the quality the "New Management" is going to offer, they won't be open for long

This was a horrible experience. The dining room had 6 tables of guests. You would have thought by the way they acted that 100 people were waiting out the door for service. We waited 5 minutes at the door for someone to acknowledge and greet us. Then we waited 10 for someone to greet us at our table. The service was atrocious. The food took forever to come. The food was mediocre at best. I had skin on my haddock and my father's burger was way overcooked. The drinks are in plastic cups. Trays are placed on the tables. I was charged incorrectly for chowder and when presented the mistake to the server was given a hostile attitude. I will never go here again. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Pros: Amazing, gorgeous location!

Cons: Service, Food, Experience, Prices Beware!!!

Its located on the docks and is a locals type restaurant somewhat off the tourist path. The menu is typical Maine seafood and is reasonably priced. It is very kid friendly and has a burger/pizza kids menu. The seafood is fresh and the portions ample. The inside of the restaurant is decorated in a nautical motif. My only negative comment is that due to its close proximity to the ocean it smells a bit damp inside.
