Very caring and knowledgable staff. Ross is great with animals and listens closely to verbal and nonverbal communication from both the owner and the pet.

Dr. Ross is kind, knowledgeable, and very down to earth. He knows more about nutrition than the average veterinarian, and is extremely conservative when it comes to doling out drugs. He is also very open to answering question after question, and is not afraid to admit and even recommend another medical professional if and when a concern is beyond his scope of expertise. The bottom line is that his priority is the dog's best interest versus simply making a profit. In fact, he was the only area vet who did not push the Pro-Heart 6 drug that nearly killed my Dachshund. Needless to say, I had been using another vet in town at the time who presented PH6 like it was God's gift to animals. And what makes matters worse, she knew better. After the drug was administered to my elderly dog, I caught sight of a newsletter which had her (the owner) claiming that, although this was the solution to having to give a monthly heartworm preventative, she would not allow it to be given to an older dog. Ha! My guy was 12 years old at the time.
One other thing. Usually, in every company, there is one who might not share all or any of the staff's positive qualities. Not at York Animal Hospital. Everyone there is kind, loving and patient. YAH gets my vote!

Pros: kind, professional, down-to-earth, knowledgeable owner/staff. Conservative when it comes to conventional drugs, open to alternative methods, if reasonably presented.

Cons: None.

The staff is very nice and knows the pets. Our dog was greeted upon entrance with his name. They know their animals. The doctor is very nice. Dealt with our dog from when we got him until he passed away. The doctor was even helpful in dealing with our dog's death. While he was alive though, the doctor always knew just what was wrong. When he was boarded there, he was always treated right. No complaints here.

PROS: friendly staff
