I broke down on the side of the road in Brewer (I live 4 hours away in NH) and AAA towed my car to the toyota dealership after we called them and they said yes, come right in. This was a Saturday at 1:00pm (they close at 4:00pm). This

I have bought 5 vehicles from Downeast Toyota and have always found the sales staff, service, and management to be straight forward and able to answer any questions that I might have had. Not only have they helped me during the sale but have continued to listen to me after the sale as well. If I have had any concerns they have addressed them right away. I would definately recommend Downeast Toyota to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

Purchased a 2007 camry 6-2-07 ,called det service dept with complaints of hesitation and downshifting problem, was told to drive for a week so car can learn driving habits.
I did, on june12th called det service dept again with no change in car, almost hit a ups truck trying to pull out of drive way that am, this time I was told that no fix at this time but not to worry because like the v6 camry they had to pull all off the lot for transmission problems when and if toyota comes up with a fix toyota would let me know. with being told no fix I traded the camry back in for my old car i traded 10 days earlier, and lost 7000.00 becaus of a problem with no fix and now problem becomes "NORMAL" when the now atleast three tsb's fail to fis this problem.
Is this problem related to the floor mats gone gas pedal to what ever toyota says the problem is now?? seems like it ot me?? Dangerous hesitation sudden acceleration? sounds the same to me.
Called det SEVERAL times to see why I lost so much money because of a problem with no fix no one called me back rill sept. it was KEVIN KELLY when i asked him why i lost 7000.00 because of a problem with no fix?? His answer was that "He did not hold a gun to my head to buy the camry or to trade it back in and there was nothing i could about losing all that money because he can do as he wants and nothing i can do".
Does this sound like toyota or det care??? Not!!!
The only thing toyota cares about is hiding the truth about sudden acceleration and selling these death traps at a way low price to unload them to the consumer.
stay away from this dealer!!!! What they did to me is just wrong!!! But as kevin says he can do as he wants!!!
Get this det sends me incentives to buy another toyota from them. They got me once well twice, hate to admit to that but NEVER AGAIN, kevin send your incentive to the next sucker because it will not be me, not even if you have a buy one get one free sale!!!
Google toyota's pedal fix not working
Google toyota deaths
Google Down east toyota going green
Read all the complaints and ask yourself if you think toyota will help you if you have a safty issue with your car
The gas pedal fix is in question if it fixes the problem and toyota and down east toyota are selling these cars at huge disscounts, and not sure what the fix is??
Does this sound like toyota cares or trying to unload as many as possible before the real truth comes out if it ever does??

Pros: none

Cons: dangerous problems, that become "NORMAL"

I have had a few similar incidents and have heard of numerous instances where the salesman and manager were rude, obnoxious to potential and current cusomers. I dont understand what their problem is. I hope they are starving now that auto sales are down, no sympathy from me. My last encounter was in 2003 they when they kissed up to me to buy a Four Runner that I wanted. A couple of weeks later I went back in and talked to the salesman"Brewer" his boss"Geaghan" told me to get my Explore off his lot because it was from Canada. Whatever that meant...

Brewer was more interested in selling someone a Corolla for $12,000 instead of a $40,000 Four Runner and he didn't offer an explanation, and turned and walked away. I was shocked as I wanted it no matter what my trade was. So their loss continues and I never hesitate to tell people not to go there. I buy two new business luxury cars every three years. I travel from the Bangor area to Augusta to buy vehicles and have oil changes at Charlies in Augusta, it is worth the trip. The sales and service staff are very customer service oriented. Not only are they cheaper but the service is outstanding, the respect, quality and service that one would expect from a Toyota dealer.

Cons: jerks for employees

didn't know any information about car they told us they cant keep on the lot, not even MPG, ignored us, in the middle of talking with them, one walked off to start a different sale with another gentlemen who also walked out due to the staff there..gave us a hard time because we wanted to see how the car we wanted to purchase worked (they had a used one in the showroom) the salesmen gave us a hard time retrieving a battery, said he wouldn't get the battery again when we closed to trunk to see if the was adequate headroom in the rear, 6 different salesmen, no one knew anything pertaining to MPG which I found very surprising with today's fuel prices and economy. When mentioning that to a sale rep, he became very rude and argued with me, but before getting very argumentative he told my husband and myself to go home or on their computer to look up the information ourselves, UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST, UNFRIENDLY UNKNOWLEDGEABLE, UNCARING!! Never will return again, never would recommend.

We wind up going to Central Maine Toyota in Waterville, where the staff there knew each and every answer to all questions, the manager leant us his own personal vehicle to go to lunch with because the new car we purchased was getting washed, fueled up and cleaned from head to toe. Driving 45 minutes was well worth it. These people really care.
