.

I went to this clinic after slicing my hand open, extremely deep on my ski, while skiing. I went to this clinic because my hand was profusely bleeding and needed immediate care. When I arrived they gave me the option of staying there or going to the local hospital which they claimed was far away (it is not!! they just want business). I only stayed there because I had one of the scariest feelings imaginable: I could not feel one of my fingers (at all)!!! To make a long story I was spoken to in a condescending tone by a Ms. Desjardins who was completely incompetent!!! She ignored my comments about the severe numbness claiming it was normal on extremities (I know the difference! This was an entirely different). Then she numbed my hand with anesthetics even after I told her it was numb already and then later when I continually complained, blamed my complete loss of feeling on the anesthetics!!!!! Google cut/finger hand and loss of feeling... 1000s of hits will come up. It is an extremely common occurrence due to the nerve locations in the hand (I later found out). If it is so common why does someone at a ski mountain not know of this!?!?!?

To make a long story short, I needed to have my nerves sewn back together before she closed my hand. Due to the incompetence at this clinic I have to have my hand re-cut open so that my nerves can be tied back together when it should have been done at the time of the incident!! and I wont be able to use my right hand (I'm right handed) for another 3 months following. (6 months total) all due to the lack of trained staff at this facility.

NEVER GO HERE, even if u are in dire need due to profuse fluid loss like I was. It is worth the extra scare/travel to go elsewhere. Unless you will die, go to the nearest hospital!

P.S. This is the clinic at Sunday River Ski Resort.

Pros: good location

Cons: no doctors on staff, incompetent medical advice/procedures provided by nurses
