This is my all time favorite bookstore! I bought many a classic and classical records (yes, 331/3 RPM back in the 70's) I used to go there and visit my friends the Conrad's who started this shop when it was one ot the few bookstores in town. I again visited the shop last year and though it has moved, it is still the best!

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a bookstore in Camden, Maine, has a great selection of nautical books. However, the variety is AMAZING! I HAD to buy the book on making knots. I was working on a ship as a cook and this one was the one for me.
I asked the clerk for at least 5 different titles, and each time, she took me to the right location with a very pleasant air. I spent about 2 hours in here the first time I visited. It is just that good. Of course, I did have to buy the moose postcards to send to friends. They were by a local photographer and that made me feel extra good--supporting local businesses all around!

PROS: Lots of books packed into a small place
CONS: Far from Portsmouth
