My husband & I, stayed here September 2010...what a charming place. Although it was a rainy weekend, we still had a small bon-fire and the cabin was comfortable. Other guests were having a BBQ, they invited us to join. Felt comfortable, owners very nice...a great hidden gem on Grand Traverse Bay. You feel like your away from everything, but it's less than a mile away from area restaurants & city activities...will come back for sure!

Please try the charm and quietness of the cottages and houses they where just what i was hoping for. not holiday inn stuck in a building feeling. it felt like home on the beach if i had one

dont listen to steve a's bad review i almost did and now realize maybe he had the problem

very friendly owners who take care of your needs but also didnt bother us. nice private feeling beach and chairs and setup for kids to play also.

very quiet and secluded feeling even though your steps from the main traffic

was well worth the money since he was very generous with the nightly rate - pays to be nice sometimes - you get back what you put into it

"50's charm" apparently means "minimal effort". We recently stayed at this location, mostly because it had a kitchen & was close to downtown. However, we would NOT stay there again. The day we arrived we found a sign on the office door saying they'd return at 1:30 pm. This was at 1:35 pm. So we decided to go get lunch and come back. We returned at 2:05 pm to find the same sign. This time a young lady who's family apparently had been coming there for the past 12 years, although I can't imagine why, approached us and informed us that she knew where the owner was and would find him, also that the cottage was unlocked and we could go ahead and unpack. There were no towels or washcloths in the cottage so we had to track down the owner to get some. We were told that any used ones could be left on the chairs at our door & they would be replaced. Used ones were finally picked up 3 days after being put out and replacements were NOT provided. The owners did enter our cottage ONCE during the time we were there, to close a window they apparently didn't like being open. Fortunately we'd brought our own beach chairs, as the ones supplied looked like remnants from the Grand Opening. Several were lying around broken. There's also no ice machine, and the ice we did make in the freezer was brownish and tasted nasty. The owners are indifferent at best toward their guests, the place is run-down and poorly maintained. I would caution anyone considering staying there to think carefully & consider other accommodations.

These cottages are well decorated. They are typical up north style. They have chairs set up on the waterfront so that you can grab a glass of wine and watch the sunset. I would stay here again
