I had my home for sale and accepted an offer contingent on a home inspection by the buyers. Structure and Site Inspection Services ("SSIS") was hired by the buyers to inspect my home. Due to the findings of the owner of SSIS, Martin, the buyers chose not to purchase the home unless I agreed to a large monetary credit at closing. The main issue revolved around deficiencies in the inspection of the heating and air-conditioning system.

I immediately called a reputable heating and cooling company to attend to these alleged deficiencies. Not only did the technician tell me that SSIS's inpector was mistaken about the deficiencies, but there were outright false statements made on the report. This is coming from a company that would love nothing more than to sell me a new furnace and air-conditioning system.

I called SSIS and Martin answered the phone. When I began to explain the location of my house and the fact that I called a heating and cooling company to my home to address the alleged findings of his inspection he told me that I had no right to call him and immediately hung up on me. I didn't even get a chance to tell him what the technician had found.

If SSIS were confident of their abilities, why wouldn't they at least listen to what the technician found? I would definately not recommend this company.
