I love it, I really do. Be careful and order the mild unless you are really adventurous. But the mild is always just perfect for the American palate. Also, check out the Mango Sweet Rice desert.

It's not that the food was bad, but it is absolutely NOT Thai. The Tom Yum soup, supposedly made with galangal (which is similar to, but different from ginger), lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaf broth, but the soup had never seen any of those ingredients. I asked for "hot" spicing, but the soup was on the very mild side of medium, at best. The summer rolls contained fresh bead curd - an unusual item in such a dish. They were crisp, but the "chef's special sauce lacked flavor. Prices are high for the serving size. I regard the ratings as more than overblown; they are mostly inaccurate. In Rochester, NY we have several Thai restaurants which on a bad day would serve better, and at least more authentic Thai food. I have traveled in Thailand and Cambodia. No Thai would recognize this food.

Tuptim Thai Cuisine is overrated. When we first moved to town, several people told us that Tuptim was THE BEST Thai food in town. We tried it and it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but definitely didn't deserve the praise a lot of people give it.

Despite all of the "Best of Ann Arbor" paraphernalia displayed in the entrance, Tuptim is not the best of anything. The meat in the beef panang was grayish and chewy, the panang itself dull. More disappointing was the Kaw Soy. I was excited to see this Chiang Mai specialty on the menu, but it instead of flat egg noodles, I was baffled to find Japanese Udon noodles. The flavor was not as dull as the panang, but a far cry from any Kaw Sawy I had before. Also sorely missed in the soup was the chicken leg, replaced with average cheap-Chinese-food style chicken. A few hours later, indigestion, a problem I never had in six weeks of eating street food in Thailand.

I'm still hunting for decent Thai food in Ann Arbor. If you've ever had real Thai food and you want to have it again, don't come here. Otherwise... well, still, I can't recommend it.

This is the best Thai food that I have ever had in MI. The prices are great and the food is even better. The restaurant is small and there is usually a wait but it is so worth it. We would get take out all the time and it was always fresh and delicious! I highly recommend.

What else can I say when everything is just excellent. Cheez I can come back everyday for their padthai, spring roll and oh, yah, the duck. Trust me.

Just came into town and a friend recommended me to try this place. Absolutely beautiful restaurant with great Thai food. Love the Crispy Duck and Pad kee-mau and the Mango dessert.

We went here last year. The spring rolls were pretty good and so was their Thai iced tea. The thai food was ok...my boyfriend's curry was soupy. The service was pretty good, but I'm not sure if we will go back.
