Went here to sell back all of my older jewelry that I don't really wear anymore, and after shopping around to a couple different gold buying places, this store gave me the most for all of it. They were also really nice to me. I went to Medawar first and they wouldn't even make eye contact, it just felt like I wasn't worth much effort to them.
At Genesee Valley Gold and Silver, the scales were just behind the counter, and I could see the numbers when they weighed everything so I know they were being honest.
I've read the other review that gave them one star, and I personally think that if you believe you will get anything close to what you paid for your stuff when it was brand new, you're insane.

I don't even give justice by giving this store one star...it deserves way less then one. Me and my fiance bought a one carat diamond engagement ring along with a band for him, three gold necklaces and one diamond cross pendant. The engagement ring alone was $2000.00 and we bought it last March. We have since went our different ways so I was going around to jewelers to see what they would appraise the ring at to re-sell to them. I assumed Genesee Valley Gold & Silver would give me the most back so I purposely went to other jewelers first to more or less shop around to see if they compared to each other. Other jewelers appraised the ring by far much higher than the very place I bought it from. For a one carat beautiful diamond ring that they charged us $2000.00 for (and they claimed they cut down the price because we were buying so many other items at the time) they only would offer $110.00. This is NOT a typo...a thousand WAS NOT offered. ONLY $110.00 for a ring that was bought for $2000.00 from this very store. I can only assume they are trying to rip me off or that they they ripped me off when we bought it. They don't stand behind the products they sell. I used to buy all my jewelry from there but this was a slap in the face. I will NEVER buy anything from there again and I will spread the news to everyone I know about this injustice. They should of stayed retired and stayed out of Michigan. We have enough crooks around this town. They should be able to stand behind the products they sell and not be so intent on stealing someone's money. They sold us junk....they proved it by offering only $110.00 for an item they sold for $2000.00. Please don't go to this jeweler. Please help shut thieves like this down. Go back to Florida and rip people off down there.

I have shoped at this jewelery store many of times. It is a clean, nice and well lighted store. The lights make the jewelery sparkle. It makes it so beautiful you will want to buy it. The sales people are nice and not pushy. I think they have very good prices. The do have layaway and gift certificates. Give them a try, jewelry makes a great Christmas gift.

a really nice jewelry store with a large selection of jewelry. salespeople are friendly and always willing to help. they offer sizing services and will clean your jewelry whenever you bring it in for servicing. conveniently located near genesee valley mall. bought my wifes anniversary/replacement wedding band from here and was very pleased with the selection, pricing and service.

I was at Genesee Valley gold and Silver a while ago and they had a huge selection. Their prices are very reasonable. The associates were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would deffinately go back to this store. It was clean and well organized.
