Not sure when the one reviewer attended Mt. Zion but I have a different perspective. They are spirit filled, but never have I heard anyone blurt out. All things are done in with order (not chaos). As for money, in 3 years never heard one sermon or had one person directly ask me for money. The offering plate is passed and a scripture is read and the offering is prayed for. They seem to be using the funds wisely. As for the "royal family", I guess that perception can happen in any organization. Key word perception. I've seen it in other churches and secular organizations and find it's not so much that there is a royal family, but a group of people doing the labor. As for the pastor always speaking..not true..but so what? Is the speaker important or the message? Question is whether the speaker is letting God speak through them. Finally, while there are many alternatives to secular programs, the church reaches out into the community and does good for the area locally and globally. The alternatives to secular venues are simply to show it can be done just as well or better (dance, theatre, etc) when it's coming from a Christian. If that is escaping, then the point was missed. It's a great church, lots happening, lots to get involved with, people that genuinely care.

Mt. Zion, as well as all its community programs, provides a very warm, welcoming feeling for all new Christians, and also is a wonderful arena to learn and grow in your faith. They offer a plethora of classes and events and organizations for you to take part in. They are a spirit-filled church (people will speak in tongues and blurt out prophecies during service). Mt. Zion will provide what is known to some as the Mt. Zion bubble, giving you very little reason to communicate with the secular world. You can send your children to the Mt. Zion school, take classes yourself, become involved in some capacity as many nights a week as youd like (dance, theatre, Spanish ministry, etc.). They also offer numerous support groups for every area you may be hurting in.

My biggest problems with Mt. Zion: once you do center your life around the church and its branches, you then see how political everything is. Forgiving for a moment, the constant asking for tithes and money, it feels like a royal family of sorts is running the church, and no one is quite as non-judgmental as they may have first appeared.

PROS: Plenty to get involved with
CONS: Very politically run, only Loren C. preaches

Mt zion is the only church for you! It's a spirit filled cristian church. No strick rules or dress code. Just come to praise the lord. Learning about GOD & fellowship with the family of God is what's important.
