Royal Oak Animal Hospital

I took my dog to the groomer and she noticed a discharge coming from my dog's female organ and told me to take her to the vet right away. I called Royal Oak Animal Hospital and they said to bring her in asap. When I got there the vet and all of the staff was super nice and they quickly did tests that revealed a uterine infection in my dog. They said if the uterus wasn't removed quickly, she wouldn't make it. They did the surgery right away and called me every step of the way. The prices were reasonable (I called other vets in the area to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off) and they worked out a payment plan for me. If not for this hospital, my dog may not be here. I will only go here from now on.

I recently had a horrible experience here. I've been bringing my dog here for several years..the customer service has never been great, but their vets seemed ok, so I kept going back. Recently, I took my dog in for a routine dental cleaning. I was contacted (on my cell, which was the number I supplied) and asked to provide approval on a tooth removal. I gave permission and was told that i would be contacted when she woke up. The vets office never called back...so after i got off work, at 6PM, I tried calling--they closed and never called me to let me know my dog was ready!
As a result, my dog, who is extremely shy and timid was left alone, in a cage, in the back of a cold, dark hospital all night, with no care.
I moral of the story here is...if you care about your pet, don't bring them here!

Love this place and would recommend them to anyone! They treat me and my pets like family, and have always given them the best care! I love the bird and cat that live there too! The staff is friendly and the doctors great!

I found a large cut on my dog one morning. I took her in to the vet without an appointment. They took care of her right away. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions, treated me with respect and the charge was extremely reasonable-especially for an emergency visit, which required sedation. They gave me detailed instructions and answered any questions I had. They called to check on my dog the next day to see how she was doing. My dog mended perfectly and I have been thrilled with them. They have a very friendly caring staff that treats its patients like part of the family. The doctors are all very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this vet to anyone.

Always caring attentive and friendly doctors and staff. The resident parrot at the main counter is are a nice touch. ;)

I've been coming here for years. I'd never take my pets any where else, rats, cats dogs and more!

I took my long hair cat there for a hair cut. I picked her up later that day and as I was petting her, I noticed a CUT on her belly!

I had to call the vet to find out what happened. Rather than they call me and explain what happened or tell me when I picked her up. The vet admitted her belly was cut and they used a medical glue to stitch it back together. I was shocked the vet didn't say anything to me about it!

I have a pug and she got scratched in the eye. I took her to the Royal Oak Animal Hospital for treatment. The vet never introduced herself (which is normal since this was not the first time I had been there). I never had a serious problem with my dog before and the vet assured me this wasn't serious and gave my dog eye drops.
The eye drops were not the right type for a scratch. A ulcer developer on her within a few days and became infected. I had to take her to another vet to do surgery on her eye. After months of my poor dog going through a surgery where they sewed her eye lids shut then another surgery and more pain. After all this she ended up LOSING HER EYE!!!!
Do not go to this place!!! MY poor dog is now paying the price for the rest of her life and I live with the guilt.

I would recommend the Royal Oak Animal Hospital to anyone concerned about getting their pet(s) quality health care. The staff is very attentive and the doctors truly care about each patient they see. When our one cat was sick with terminal kidney failure each of the staff treated him as they would a member of their family.

Having gone to other vets over the years with our cats, I am impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities. I also like that their are resident animals to help calm the incoming patients, and their humans.

It started bad and only got worse....
My dog badly cut her leg on some glass. I called and told them what happen, she was bleeding everywhere and I saw a tendon hanging loose. THey told me to wait a half hour to come in because the doc wasn't there yet. After the doc did major repair of my dog's leg, she briefly came to talk to my husband, never introducing herself. My husband came back several hours later to pick up our dog, the assistant couldn't answer questions that my husband had, like can she use it? Can I give her pain meds? With every question the assistant had to go back and ask the doc. The doc wouldn't come out to talk with my husband. When my husband asked to talk with her, the doc said she would call the next day. It has been 2 days and no phone call yet. The printed information sheet they gave us has contradictory instructions. I will never go back!!!!!!

We had to take our cat here when we needed to get in right away. The staff was super friendly and did their best to help us stay calm. The prices were reasonable and the office itself was very clean. I would go back in the future and recommend to anyone else.

I went to this Animal Hospital after a bad experience at another office. This office was very clean and is easy to get into. The prices for their services are excellent. We have gotten top notch care from this office.
