We went to this restaurant to try something new. We were tired of the same old thing. The cuisine is German and the food is spectacular. Everyone ordered something different, and we enjoyed everything. The service is also very good.

The service was slow, but most importantly the food was not appealing, nor authentic German as the reviews said. I had the weiner schnitzel, and it was two small pieces of veal. The breading was greasy and the center of the meat was pink. Not authentic German at all. But the kicker was they ran out of spaetzle, the German dumpling, at 7pm on a Friday! That's like a Mexican restaurant running out of rice; or an Italian restaurant running out of spaghetti. I was appalled! Somehow a baked potato does not go well with a weiner schnitzle. I could not have been more disappointed. The waitress did not care that they ran out, nor even offerred to discount anything from our meal. Also, the prices are too high for what you get. The chicken noodle soup was good though! Will not go back to Richters. Instead, for good German food, I will go back to the place in Ann Arbor.

Pros: Good chicken noodle soup

Cons: Slow service, bad presentation, weiner schnitzle was awful, and ran out of spaetzle
