I dropped off my little 5 pound Pomeranian Rocko the last weekend in June. They dropped him and Broke His Leg. Then put him back in the cage unattended. He suffered all night without care. When I was contacted in the morning he was next door at the Vet. I spoke to the groomer and she told me all the details. My thoughts were that the person that dropped him was more afraid of losing her job than the welfare of a helpless dog. The only thing the Vet next door cared about was telling me they were not connected to Creature Comforts. Funny because that is why I used them. I thought if anything happened he would have close by medical attention. She is also married to Creature Comforts owner Steve Marsh. This place looks good on the out side but truth is they really don't care about animals or have a emergency plan. I spoke to Steve Marsh he didn't even know or care about the details. I am crying in Florida and he was saying to me I had a horse once that had a fracture and I didn't know it. I just lost it and screamed at him this is a 5 pound dog that was left all night alone to suffer and you compare him to a horse? I called my Vet Dr Ajaib Dhaliwal at Michigan Avenue Animal Hospital. I told him what happened, the first thing he said to me was do you want me to pick him up? At that point Anna from the front desk was already driving him to Dr Dhaliwal. Anna was the only person that stepped up to help from Creature Comforts and I greatly apreciate her help. From then on Dr Dhaliwal took care of everything, made him comfortable did the Xrays and dertermined the surgery needed. Dr Dhaliwal stayed late on a Saturday night and did the surgery, he put a plate in his leg. By the time we made it home he was recovering nicely. He is doing very well now and walking fine. Creature Comforts never contacted me after in any way to ask how Rocko was.
I have friends who recommended this business. They have 4 Dachshunds. (Noisy house they have!) After getting a hot dog of my own I brought him there for a clipping of his nails and also to the Veteraniaran located on the same premises. This place is impressive just driving in to it. You can tell just from the outside they have a great set up. The people in the grooming and boarding area are real nice and make me feel very welcome when ever I visit. They do a fantastic job of clipping my dogs nails. (It's all he really needs as far as grooming) They allow me to hold him and comfort him as they are doing their work. He will not let me touch his feet. But I can easily fool him as they clip and I distract his attention with hugs and kisses. There are 3 or 4 groomers there that are very good with him. I feel confident that my dog is not traumatized when he walks out with his tail wagging, or jumps out of the car when I arrive with him. He knows where he is going and walks me to the door. I would highly recommend checking this place out for grooming or boarding needs. I have not yet used the boarding but I am confident that I will be leaving my Dog in good hands when I go on my next trip out of town. I have used the Veteraniaran for a check up and the people there are nice and again I trust them with my Dog. For me to trust anyone with my Dog I assure you they are leaving a good impression on me that he is being cared for with a competent and compassionate Doctor. The prices are reasonable from my point of view. The whole set op of the facility is geared toward all kinds of animal care and you will know it when you drive in to the parking lot. I highly recommend this facility based on Appearance, the People skills there, Animal Compassion, and the Professionalism that is displayed upon every visit there. If my Dog ever gets sick or hurt he will be rushed over there from Ypsilanti. If you are in the area and have the time stop in and check the place out.
Wow, this is one nice boarding and grooming facility. The grooming prices are not too high (when compared to the big stores), and the staff do an excellent job. The boarding prices are the same way - very reasonable compared to others in the area. After looking around at CCB & B we have decided this is were we will board our pets, should we ever have too.
The staff are very caring and it shows. The pets are let outside often and allowed to run in a fenced in area. Its just a really nice place and I would feel very comfortable leaving my pets here.
We boarded our dogs here on our most recent vacation and will be taking them here again. The staff were not only caring but quite flexible. They are willing to feed your food and happy to take refrigerated or other special food requests. They allow the pet to have its own crate, bedding, and toys in the the run. And the dogs are rotated outside frequently. Our dogs seemed happy when we got back and didn't take long to bounce back from the usual after-trip trauma period.
