This 18 hole golf course is a little gem within the city. It is well maintained and quite inexpensive. The concession stand is small but adequate. Carts are available for a nominal fee. For a quick round, it is great. it is 3 minutes from my house and I can usually get on in the mornings; finish my round and be back home within 4 hours.

In order to have an enjoyable round of golf here, timing is everything. Since the course is so short and green fees inexpensive, lots of "wanna be's" show up to play, which is ok, except many have no concept of golf etiquette. It's not unusual, in the past five years when I used to play there regularly, to have a father with his very young kids, hitting the ball a few yards or a couple, where one or both can't hit the ball straight more than 20 yards, but the infuriating part is, they often do not wave faster players through. It's not uncommon to be standing in the fairway, waiting to hit, and be completely ignored by the slower players in front of you. It's also not uncommon to have someone in front of you, squatting on the green, lining up a putt, when he's lying 8 already. This is where you go when you decide at the last minute to play a round and the course looks empty when you show up. Timing is everything.

If you are looking for a lavish golf course with lush fairways and meticulous greens, this is not the course for you. But, if you want to play golf often, for a low price, you have found a gem in Indian Trails. The fairways run into each other and there aren't many obstacles to work around, but the course is well-maintained and it is easy to get a starting time. If you are looking for a cheap round of golf...look no futher!

First place that I've ever played golf in my life! Great place to learn the game (though it is right along side 28th Street). I think I had a 29 on the first hole! The back nine is more protected from the road noise and easier to score, in my opinion. Last time I played it, though, the groundskeeping kept quite a bit to be desired. Can be busy, though, because so close to GR proper.
