A gorgeous museum and a perfect place to take your children to for something fun to do. It is easily accessible and you can spend many hours there.

I recently took my family to the children's museum. I am a new mom who loves to take my daughter out for activities. This time we decided on the children's museum. It was awesome. We went on a Thursday night so it was only a $1 per person. My daughter played for hours. She loved everything about it, and I did aswell. THere were so many great things for her to do. And it is good for all ages of children not just younger ones. I loved taking her there, I can't wait to take her back.

This is one of the best places to take children. It's a hands on museum with tons of educational items but they'll be having too much fun to even realize they are learning. There are toys for children of all ages (you'll even see all the adults having fun and trying to play with things). They are constantly changing and adding new features. Admission is very reasonably priced especially for how much it has to offer. They offer family rates and children under 2 are free. The only downside is parking is sparse. We usually have to park a ways away which isn't ideal when taking a group of young children down busy streets. However, once you get inside, you'll forget all about the parking problems :)

The kids enjoy the Childrens Museum, however, I've found that it doesn't hold their attention for long. There are several things to do, but not a large amount and when it is busy, it is a horrible experience. Their special themes change often though and are very in tune with what the kids like. They encourage active thinking and play and it is usually a good time for all.

There is so much to see and do at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. Admission is reasonably priced, and they have wonderful special exhibits throughout the year. They also offer special events and outings for any children's group, such as field trips and presentations.

If you haven't taken the kids to the Children's Museum yet, they are truly missing out. It is the neatest place for children. They have so many exhibits and lots of hands on activities for children of all ages. They even have a place for younger toddlers to play. A fun and very nice play to bring the children on a rainy day to get out of the house. Well worth the money.

I took my 2 year old and 11 month old and they both had a blast! There are so many activities for all age groups from trains to bubbles to shopping to sand! and they had a designated story time. I thought it was relatively cheap and well worth the price. We got there right when it opened so parking was not a problem but during busy times parking is kind of a pain.

The staff was also very interactive in showing the kids how to use the different stations and constantly cleaning up and putting toys away, not to mention very friendly and social!

PROS:
CONS: possibly parking

My son is 2 and last weekend I decided to wander down to the Childrens Museum with him. I didn't expect there to be much for him to do or even to have him stay interested but was really surprised. They have such hands on exhibits that even my little guy with the short attention span stood and watched in wonder for a few minutes at each display. If you want to watch your child's face fill with wonder it really is worth the trip downtown to see such a great little piece of history where the kids can have fun with a hands on learning experience. At certain times of the year they also seem to have different activities and displays that aren't always available so it also won't hurt to check in and see what is out before going down to visit.

PROS: Wonderful displays, very hands on for the children.
CONS: Downtown Traffic is busy during the normal business hours

The Grand Rapids Childrens Museum is definately a great place to take kids. It features a lot of exhibits that are not only fun, but educational as well. Music, Science, and Make-believe stations make for hours of fun. The low cost admission is nice, and changing exhibits make it a different experience every time!

The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is a worthwhile activity for kids under 10. Located right downtown, be sure to look at their website for the specials and free days (though it will be crowded during those times). Some of the activities are a bit repititious and the older kids may be bored. Borrows quite a bit from other children's museums -- like the one in St. Paul, MN that I've been to. Nevertheless, on dank dreary Michigan winter days---a nice alternative to the mall.

I take my niece here at least once a year. It's not only a great time for the kids but the adults too. There are so many different activities that you will wonder where the time went. The only problem is getting your little one out the door. Not a bad value at all. I don't remember exact cost, but it is very reasonable. No where else can you entertain your child and yourself for hours, for less.

I like to go and take the entire faimly on a saturday. They offer family rates on admission. The museum is very clean and is a great hands on learning experience for people of all ages. I find my self playing right along side my kids every time we go there. They have unique exhibits at different times of the year that relate to the changing seasons and weather. Your kids will love this place.

This is a definite must do activity for kids. There are tons of things for kids to put there hands on and learn about. It's definitely 1 of the top 5 things to do with kids in the grand rapids area. Having a birthday party there is a great idea..we've been to one of those.

What a wonderful way to let your kids play and experience new things without having to shell out $9 a kid! I went here recently and was so pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to pay an arm & a leg for everybody to enjoy the museum.

And it was so great ~ for both my 3 year old and my 14-month old. They made slime and played in the VW bug and had fun at the little shopping area there!

I highly recommend taking your children to the museum. They change the themes and I'm not sure if the Community Workers theme is still there or not. But it's a great time for all!

Check out the Children's Museum in downtown Grand Rapids. This museum is great for kids of all ages. There is even a special area for toddlers--complete with a padded play are for the littlest of ones. The Children's Museum also offers rooms to rent for birthday parties at an excellent rate. Favorites exhibits of my children include the bubble area and the construction zone. This museum is lots of fun--visit it soon!!

The Children's Museum is one of the greatest things to come to Grand Rapids. The educational benefits it offers are unlimited. They often have exhibits come in from all over the world to give children the opportunity to learn things they normally may never know. The hours are very good and the prices are not that bad. The have a gift shop inside as well.

If you have ever visited the Grand Rapids Children's Musuem, chances are you fell in love. I know I did. I attended a birthday party of a child I babysat that was hosted here, but I had an absolute ball! My favorite were the warped mirrors. I always wondered what I would look like tall & skinny! I know that area schools will oftentimes go here after a dance. It's really that much fun. Highly recommended; go check it out.
