This jeweler is well respected and deservingly so. They accomodate to their customers as best they can. They by no means are priced economically. The jewelry sold in the store is high end and designer. Even if you haven't been a customer, they welcome you into the store and will clean and polish your jewelry for you at no charge. Good customer service.
My husband purchased my engagement ring at Lucido Fine Jewelry, he shopped around quite a bit and went to a few other stores before deciding on Lucido, he was making a big purchase and wanted a good reputable jeweler and that is exactly what he got.. of course I wasn't with him at this point but he says the service was outstanding, they were extremly helpful in picking out the perfect ring.. after we got engaged we went here for our wedding bands.. first off, this store is just beautiful.. the location is convenient and the store is just so clean and so rich looking, it makes you proud to be a customer.. their selection is large and there is always more then enough staff.. we had my wedding band custom made to match the ring, it came out perfect and we also purchased my husbands ring.. they do also offer financing, although we did not use it so I cannot comment on how that is.. overall it was a wonderful experience that this is our jewelry store of choice presently.. we got quite often to have our rings cleaned and polished, free of charge of course, and everyone is always so friendly and willing to help.. all and all this is a great jeweler, they really know how to keep customers!
I had a ring custom made which cost me over 3,200.00
I didn't mind spending the money as long as I got what I was paying for. Someone I know recommended Lucido's so I went there.
As someone who never knew much about rings I thought I would do some research beforehand. I learned the 4 C's and went in thinking I knew at least enough not to get scammed. The employees are very nice and they really took their time with me. I left feeling good about my purchase.
Fast forward 2 years. I got divorced and decided I would get the best price if I went back to the store. They do buy gold and diamonds.
Are you sitting down?
I paid 600.00 for the custom 14K white band
I paid $2500.00 for a .60 VS2 G diamond
At the time I thought this was a normal price. The diamond alone has a mark up of 100%. Do a search on a .60 G VS2 loose diamond and see the price. Unbelievable! Even Blue Nile gives you a GIA certification.
So anyway, Lucido's tells me they don't sell used diamonds and they would have to sell it to someone else because they can't put a used diamond in a ring. They offered me $750.00 for the entire ring. I can't help but wonder what they would have sold it to someone else for. They charged me $2500.00 for the diamond alone!
I decided I was going to sell it somewhere else. I wasn't going to let Lucido's sell it to someone else and double dip at my expense. I went to various jewelry stores and every one of them told me I overpaid for the ring. I just can't believe I paid so much for this ring. My ring from Lucido's didn't even have a GIA certification. They told me it would cost an additional $300.00 so I didn't get one. They gave me a useless appraisal of $3750.00.
I end up going to a jeweler in Brighton who turns out to be the most honest of them all. He took the stone out of the ring and placed it under the magnifier. So now- there is chip in the stone. He let me look and sure enough there is tiny chip which you couldn't see in the setting. So not only did I pay $2500.00 for a .60 G VS2- it has a chip in it. The jeweler said that it's possible it got chipped during the setting but he couldn't say for sure. I only wore the ring a few times and never hit it on anything. I never had it in another store for fear someone would switch the diamond on me. I think I would have made out if they had!
Bottom line is Lucido's sold me a .60 G VS2 diamond for $2500.00
They sold me a $600.00 custom 14K gold ring which under the magnifier you could see the jagged edges and shoddy work. I understand they have to make a profit but they offer me $3,000.00 less than their own appraisal!
I still want to know how they could have sold me that diamond for $2500.00! The price of that diamond alone with the exact same dimensions is $1500.00 everywhere else. Like I said, I understand they have to make a profit to pay for their advertising but that is just absurd.
Don't buy your ring here. I agree with the first review on here. By the time you find out you have been had it's too late. They are now advertising on TV and have this beautiful website. You are paying for the name and their little chocolates at the counter. If you are going to pay for a name- go to Tiffany. At least you know you are paying for the name there and you can trust them.
Pros: Beautiful Store and Nice Employees
Cons: WAY overpriced , terrible custom work
My mistake in believing that this store would give me a fare price, but I guess that someone has to pay WARREN PEARCE on their commercials!
Selling your gold is like trying to find a gas station with a decent price...that's all I wanted. They are all nice after they have you & by the time you find out that you have been had, it's too late.!
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Pros: Beautiful store
Cons: but don't give them your GOLD!
