Our boxer mix is in there right now being given treatment that most people don't get in hostpitals. If you don't like the bill, don't go there. They saved our other dog three years ago from certain death. Our pets are that important to us. Thank you so much to the entire hospital staff and especially the Vets! Clark

At 11:30 pm after a day putting braces on my daughter, my cat knocked over a candle holder and cut her foot. When I called this place, they informed me that it was going to be a $99 visitation fee. Ok fine after the first $1600 dollar bill of the day I paid the fee with no problem. The real problem came when they came into the room and said that they were going to perform an hour long surgery with anesthesia, the total bill was over $700. Are you kidding me? I can step on a nail, go to a doctor get shots and pay $50. So when the person below me says they perform the same things at the same prices at an adult hospital they obviously are being misled somewhere along the line. Now I know that this place is an emergency care clinic, and should only be used in times of emergency, a $700 bill seems a bit excessive with their requirement of the bill being paid in full at the time of service and no other forms of alternate payments being considered.

Last week our 11 month old husky ate an entire bottle of our older dogs arthritis medication. We ran him into our local vet's office where they initiated treatment. Unfortunately, our local vet clinic does not provide 24 hour care and Koda would need continuous IV fluids to help prevent kidney failure. Koda could not resist chewing his lines during the night when he was unsupervised, preventing him for getting the vital fluids he needed. In an hysterical panic, I called the Animal Emergency Clinic. Kelli was absultely wonderful. She reassured me that they had many tricks up their sleve to prevent a husky puppy from chewing his IV lines and they would be with him 24 hours a day. We quickly transfered him out to Grand Rapids. For four longs days they cared for Koda. They maintained his lines and never complained even when he ate an IV bag. They hand fed him when he refused to eat his special food. And they loved on him like he was their own. Dr Feville, Kelly and the rest of the staff answered all my questions and reassured me that I could call anytime for updates (which we did multiple times a day and night). Words could never express how much their care and understanding meant to us. Koda is back home and healthy. Thank You So Much. You guys will always hold a special place in our hearts.

On a Saturday night near midnight I needed care for my 7 month old beagle named Magnet. After alot of searching ,AEH was the only open hospital there was. Ann answered the phone and after a brief talk she asked me to bring him in NOW. Grand Rapids is an hour drive from my home, We brought him right in, he was vomiting, and lethargic. Magnet had Parvo, which many times is fatal, I was very upset, and sad and the staff were SO nice and patient. They were straight about the seriousness of this , the estimated cost, and the 50/50 chance of the treatment helping. We wanted our Magnet better. The treatments began right as soon as they had permission. The treatments went on until Wednesday. The staff gave me COMPLETE updates every time I called (about every 3 hours!!). His health was up and down during this time. The hardest part was wanting to give him love and care while he was SO needing it, but thru all my calls and the things the staff said, I knew they were giving him PERFECT love and care.I cannot possibly thank each of them enough. We are a one income ,family of 7, and times are hard. The price was ALOT for us to pay, BUT WORTH every penny. The joy I felt when I picked him up to come home was as strong as I feel for my children. I will always love and remember all of the staff at AEH. THANK-YOU..THANK-YOU Tammy Flores & family and MAGNET.

When my original vet failed me and shooed me out the door because it was there closing time, I might say i was a little ticked. I didn't know where to turn. Thankfully these people are there 24hours a day and don't decide to kick you out cause its closing time. My dog had a pyometra and nearly died. If it was not for this hospital she probably would have died, so I am very thankful for them. They pick up the slack for a lot of other vets!

As I write this I have my 1 year old Pug playing at my feet after a very horrifying expierience with him, NOT the animal hospital. After Milo had a seizure that he has never had before I took him to the Animal Hospital. They could not have been MORE caring and supportive. After speaking to the receptionist on the phone she informed me that it would be $119.00 for him to be seen. If it was your human child would you complain? I said that was perfectly fine. After arriving they did not ask for money up front, the receptionist asked me some questions about the incident and promptly took me into a room where another assistant came in and asked more questions for about 3 minutes. She left and the Vet, DR Marilyn Freville came in about 5 minutes later. She gave options on what they could do but suggested that Milo stay overnight for observation, which I agreed was the right thing to do. She stayed with me until all my questions were answered and was very comforting and extremely kind. About 3 minutes later the assistant came back into the room and gave me an approximate bill and said i could leave a deposit and go home to rest as it was 2:30am. I paid the deposit and went home. I recieved a call at 7am to let me know that Milo was resting comfortably and he seemed to be recovering from his two seizures from earlier that morning. I then again recieved a call at 11am saying that Milo was very active and all tests came back fine. It was definately a seizure of some type, it may happen again or it may have been an isolated occurance. I was told I could pick up Milo anytime. When I picked him up I was given extensive information on what to look for and do in the future if the seizures did occur.

I can not say anything but wonderful postive things about this place. Pricey...maybe....but again..would you not do this for your human child or family member?

Thanks to all of you wonderful people, from the receptionist to the Dr.

God Bless you!!

yeah it's expensive, but cheap compared to what the human hospitals charge and they do almost the same exact thing.
My dogs stomach had bloated and from everything I read it would have been fatal if I did not bring him in.
The staff got him in immediately and the doctor came out and told me what she thought was wrong. They took an xray to confirm it and then gave me a $2000+ estimate for the surgery. The price was hard to swallow but my dogs recovery was fast and they made sure he was pain free.
I checked with my regular doctor and he confirmed everything they did and even complimented them and noted what a great job they do being the only emergency hospital in west michigan.

I would highly recommend this hospital.
I am now a more responsible pet owner and have insurance on all of my pets and I would recommend other do the same or get a good line of credit.

I have had to use the Animal Emergency Hospital a couple of times. Each time the staff was great! They were very understanding of our distress with our animals being sick and/or injured. One of the times we had to put one of our cats to sleep. They were very comforting. The informed our regular Vet fist thing in the morning and took care of the burial. We received a sympathy card later that week as well. This clinic is very expensive and is intended for Emergency use only, but they do an excellent job when you do need them.
