Olive Garden is a family of local restaurants focused on delighting every guest with a genuine Italian dining experience. We are proud to serve fresh, simple, delicious Italian food, complemented by a great glass of wine, served in a comfortable, home-like Italian setting where everyone is welcomed as family and friends. Olive Garden's menu features a variety of Italian specialties, including classic and filled pastas, chicken, seafood and beef. Enjoy our freshly baked garlic breadsticks and your choice of homemade soup or garden-fresh salad with any entree. All menu items are available for take-out, and our Parties To Go! menu offers generous family-sized meals for your next family gathering or office party.
Great food at a good price but they need some muisc,to much noise in the dining room area.
Our server had to many tables, that hurt our service a little even though she was very good.
Pros: great food, price, yum yum desserts
Cons: no music, severs hadtomanytabel

There a too many great restaurants for romance in Detroit to have Olive Garden in the top ten. Their food just isn't that great. Add the fact that this is a "family chain" restaurant and your romance factor is going to go into negative numbers with all the screaming children sitting around you. Go somewhere else!

I can't believe that the Olive Garden would place in ANY 'best' list. It is to Italian food, what Chi Chi's is to Mexican.......If my husband ever brought me there for romance, I'd have to have his head examined. He knows that the best romantic spot for me is Cariera's Cucina in Dearborn Heights........
Pros: cheap eats, convenient locations
Cons: budget flavor, budget atmosphere, just plain tacky

I am not a real fan of the Olive Garden, but I don't like big chain restaraunts, the food is OK but not great, and the atmosphere definitly smacks of corporate design. hardly romantic

The only thing that could be attributed to anyone thinking Olive Garden is romantic has been taking in too much of the city's pollution. Good value and Italian American food - yes!

not a great italian restaurant, but alot of people seem to like it!
Pros: salad, breadsticks, wine
Cons: burnt food, sauce
Posted 12/25/02
No way! Romantic? Are you cheap? This place is NOT going to sway a woman...and if it does, you don't want her!

Olive Garden romantic?? Its liud, usually lots of kids--so-so Italian food--Its like a party place--
If your looking to impress or bring romance into your relationship Olive Garden is not the place to go.

I cannot believe this chain would come close to being listed as anything other than a place to catch a quick lunch
Cons: Crowded, Long Wait for Table

well my very first time to olive garden was last month and the food was great , but for some reason it seamed like the waitress was trying to sell us EVERYTHING like it was some sales tactic and we really dident like that at all but it was an ok visit we tried the muscles for the first time and they were delicious i would give olive garden a 7

WHAT! Romantic???? It's the Olive Garden for crying out loud!!! Go to some of the really romantic ones in Windsor for heavens sake!! Get out of the chains!!! Try Andiamo there are like seven of them. This is a sure sign of the end of the world
Pros: everywhere
Cons: olive garden, food sucks
Posted 12/09/02
not romantic - but a good value if you have kids

Get some orginal ideas and hit a decent restaurant. This over garlic-ridden haunt is for people that have no idea what real food should taste like.

Olive Garden? Not only does it serve sub-par Italian cuisine, but the place screams FRANCHISE
Most Romantic? C'mon ! Absolutely NOT.
Pros: Large Quantities, Hot Food, Free Water
Cons: Poor presentation, Lousy food, Rude staff

Who was the one to do this review? You have Whitney as 1, then you jump to the Olive Garden? Those two restaurants shouldnt even be in the same line up. Although the other choices have my vote.
Pros: Food decent, nice staff (overall)
Cons: all are the same, food is not inventive
Posted 11/14/02
An 'American/Italian" chain restaurant most romantic? I find this the farthest thing from that.
Posted 10/29/02
Olive Garden offers comparatively inexpensive food that gives Italian food a bed name. The bread sticks are fresh and salad is a good start, but the past is only a step up from Price. The service is friendly, but treats you differently if you order one of the promotions. All in all, it is average fare with atmosphere.

The Olive is just another Fast Food type resturant, without being fast. The wait time for a table is a ridiculous. The word Romantic should not be associated with this place, because it is anything but romantic. As for the food - Its about the equivalent of entrees' from the frozen foods section of any grocery store.
Pros: free parking
Cons: crowded, lengthy wait time, non-authentic food
Posted 10/20/02
I am amazed to see Olive Garden listed anywhere near romantic. It is crowded, noisy, serving "pre-cooked" sauces and frozen dishes -- If this is someone's idea of romantic, they really need to get out more!!!

The Olive Garden is not much more than a fast food restaurant chain that serves slightly better than fast food. Romantic? Don't go into the Livonia location anytime after 8:00PM. It's scary! As far as romantic restaurants in the greater Detroit metropolitan area, the Olive Garden wouldn't rate in my Top 100.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: scary!

while they do have good food, the atmosphere is often geared to the family dining (including children and babies). I would consider this a nice place to bring my whole family but not on a romantic evening out.
Pros: fast service, friendly staff, good food
Cons: limited menu, parking, tables are often uncl

Come on fellow Detroiters, is that the best we could come up with. Live a little, The Olive Garden is simply glorified fast food. I'm pretty sure the chefs at your local Olive Garden have never even been outside of Michigan, never mind study in Italy. With so many great restaurants in the Metro-Detroit area how could The Olive Garden be rated the 2nd most romantic place to eat. I'm embarassed.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: generic dining area, not very authentic

I can't agree that this resturant is romantic at all. Good food and fairly good wine list yes, but it is generally too loud and too bright to be considered romantic.
Posted 09/14/02
Sure it's an upscaled trough, big portions, too much salt, butter, etc... Ambiance? If that's ambiance I need to crawl under a rock. Overall a six, because the dining in Michigan is generally so poor as to stagger the mind.

I love this place . Iam not one that trys different foods, but I tried Olive Garden and loved it.Now everytime I go I try something different. Ireally love the salad.
Posted 08/27/02
AVERAGE for a chain...NOT in the league of Lelli's or ANY of the great Italian restaurants in Windsor!!
Posted 08/13/02
salad, bread, pasta are to die for, no rush from employees , just time to relax and enjoy.

Finding a good restaurant is an important key when going out on the town. I've been to Olive Garden several times and everytime I go the food and service seems to be getting better. I really enjoy Olive Garden and I will continue to go there.
Pros: Inexpensive, Good parking, Friendly service
Cons: Crowed

This is a great italian restaurant! Its romantic yet inexpensive
Pros: very good parking
Cons: no reservations taken

"Great food - I'd recommend the chicken parm or ribs. Firenze's is ..."
