The restaurant is really quite different. I have to agree with everything the previous posters said about the cozy decor. It is incredibly quaint. What I consider hearty food, you might view as heavy. The food can seem daunting unless you are familiar with that Eastern European cuisine. The Sunday brunch offers potato pancakes and dumplings and scrambled eggs with kielbasa. I really like this place. The staff can be aloof - casual visitors can count themselves lucky if they leave knowing their server's first name - but the service is professional and thorough. It is also not a place for a quick meal. Expect to take your time. But I think it is worth it.

I do love visiting Amadeus. Their food is delicious -- I get the pierogies, borsct, and/or vegetarian combo (forgive my spelling if it is incorrect) and I am always delighted. The atmosphere is homey -- slightly cluttered with Eastern European dolls and other decorations, but in a way that makes you think of a sweet grandmother's house. They have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings which makes for a lovely accompaniment to dinner. Service is sometimes aloof, but prompt. This is such a delightful place to duck into on a chilly winter night or for a nice lunch. Highly recommended!

Amadeus is a cozy & quaint restaurant in the heart of Ann Arbor that is an experience everyone should enjoy at least once! The restaurant's decor is something special & the food is spectacular. Pirogi was one of the dishes I have tried at Amadeus. With various pirogi 'stuffings' or 'fillers' & extrordinary flavor, they definitely gave homemade pirogi a run for their money. I highly recommend trying Amadeus if one is ever in the Ann Arbor area. You won't forget it, nor will you regret it!

Being new to Ann Arbor, I was recommended this restaurant by a co-worker. I took my husband there for his 30th birthday, and we couldn't have been happier. We arrived right when they opened, and got a table right by the window. The food was filling and the wine was fantastic! This restaurant is worth a visit- for sure!
