Great news for all "waist watchers." As a long-time customer of the Friar's store in Warren, I know they are no longer affiliated with the weight loss firm whose initials are ww. That's fine, but as someone trying desperately to lose weight, I wanted and needed the nutritional information that you can look up online even at fast food chains to track my daily eating totals. Hooray! I can report that this location now lists basic nutritional info for all their "Healthy for You" menu items. Thank you, thank you, Friar's--next my wish is for you to bring back some of those wonderful lo-cal breakfast items and list info for those too. It would be great to have a delicious and satisfying breakfast out without sinking my health and fitness efforts. And how about nutritional info on your soups, fat-free ice cream and lo-cal salad dressing as well?

My husband and I and been going to Friar's many times a week now for a few years. We love the waitresses and owners a lot. They have a lot of specials and incorportate new specials periodically. They dress up once in a while like super bowl week and Hawaiin week. They have ten soups everyday and they taste great. The menu is quite diversive and we are still finding new things we lie and just have not tried before. You get homemade rolls or bread with your meal and they taste so good. They offer a lower calorie menu called the "healthy for you" section. They used to list points and exchanges but don't anymore. There are a few of the waitresses and owners/managers that know them though and all you have to do it ask. They still have their famous cabbage soup and ice cream but not together - LOL. I personally have been going to Friar's since I was 16 and I am 51. I remember when they were across the street and I toughed it out during the fire. Oh yes and they still have their famous "weight watchers" cookies as I call them. They really aren't weight watchers but many of still call them that. They are low calorie yet big. Many times I guy them for the week because if you buy 5 your get one free. I can't say enough about Friar's - it is our home away from home - they treat us like family. We see lots of the same people in there eating all the time and there is even one man that sits with us sometimes if we arrive at the same time. Thank you Friar's for being an exemplary restaurant and more! Patty (& Neal) Gaylor - Onwer Daisy Petal Florist Hazel Park

Friars Kitchen and Bakery is very good. They have some of the most friendly staff around. Their breakfasts are great! They have good specials. Their bakery is also very good. I love the bread and my kids love the cookies. It is a good place to go to buy no sugar pies, which can sometimes be hard to find. I forgot to mention that they have approx 12 different soups every day.

Friar Kitchen and Bakery is the place to for breakfast. They have a huge selection of food and a wide variety of baked goods. I was sad to find out that recently they had a fire and are in the process of rebuilding. I hope they can hurry up and get back up and running because they have the best breakfast around. Every time I go I always get the special which gives you a ton of meat, hash browns, and eggs. The prices are cheap too.

Good family atmosphere. Generous portions. Bake goods, cookies, breads and pies sold at the counter. Fare ranges from meatloaf to steak, fish and shrimp with some Old Country dishes thrown in. Staff is friendly and efficient.
