There's a lot to be said about the Women's Resource Center, and so first I'd like to mention that they do provide genuine care for those in need- I've watched them first hand give clothes and furniture away for free to a single mother with three children and bend over backwards to aid those they feel deserve it.

That being said, there are several employees that have argued with customers over what the price SHOULD be and what the price tag reads. I personally have never had an issue, but I've watched it happen. The tag clearly will read $3, a no-brainer steal, but then the volunteer at the check out will re-price it, which is just uncalled for and a horrible way to do business. If the item has been priced a certain way, it needs to be sold for that amount, if you feel it's worth more, it should have been priced higher. (I'd also like to add the woman's total came to about $80 so she definitely wasn't ripping off the store.)

But the items are quality and the prices are really beyond reasonable, so if you can stomach the off chance that you may not be treated fairly in a resource center thrift shoppe, then just remember, prices may vary.

Just found the WRC Thrift Shop myself. Was very pleased with the low prices on items. I purchased an antique item for just pennies on the dollar! I was ecstatic with my find! This store is a real find! Squeaky clean sales floor. Helpful and friendly volunteer staff.I was treated very well by all I encountered.A volunteer even checked to see if an item was in the backroom for me. She bent over backwards to be helpful for me.I also understand that they provide a wonderful service, by providing emergency needs vouchers for those in need. The poverty stricken and domestic abuse victims. I observed a family being helped with clothing and some household items. These were given free of charge! The lady/volunteer was very kind and respectful to them as well, which was impressive. I was happy to know that the money I spent helped this organization to help others.I've found a new place to take my donations.Parking a little hairy, but worth the hassle!

The customer service at WRC is the worst I have ever encountered in any retail shop ever. On more than one occasion the volunteer staff wants to charge more than the posted signs and argued with me repeatedly the entire order i had. This has happened many times with certain staff who feel that can charge what they want for items even if a sign clearly states the price. The staff belittled me in front of other customers on a busy Saturday and no manager was around to interrupt this abuse of power the volunteer seems to think they have.I don't get it. I only want to pay what the signs say why do i have to pay more and be argued with on prices that are posted clearly.A customer behind me thought the staff should apologize for her behavior to me and she never did. I spent 78.00 on my order and she made me feel like i was ripping the store off because i expect to pay what a sign says not what she decides something is worth. What kind of customer service do you want in your retail shop?? This was ridiculous and I would appreciate this matter taken very seriously. I have talked with more than 5 people who have had this same experience with a volunteer staff member who i do have the name of. She is rude and unfair and I am tired of this volunteer misusing her power on pricing.

This was a wonderful retail store that has daily specials. It just so happened that when I was in there they had a special of a brown bag of books for $3.00. I fit so many books in the bag - what a steal. I also found some other really neat items at really good prices. A treasure mind for those that like to go to thrift stores.

I love this Thrift Shop .. their prices are more than fair, kids clothes are $1 per item!, and the store is always clean and well kept .. every staff member has been incredibly helpful and nice. They have lots of furniture, household good and women's and kids clothes. Shopping here benefits the Womens Resource Center, a charity that helps women and children get out of bad situations. It couldn't be easier to donate items too .. no hassle about what you're dontating. The best part is that everything stays in this area and helps your neighbors. They will be moving to a new much larger store in March on US 31.

PROS: Great prices on clothing, books and housewears
CONS: Sometimes hard to find what you need due to large inventory

This thrift store is well stocked and fairly (somewhat) clean, but prices are not at all consistant. The employees seem to have great latittude with pricing and often offer their friends discounts! The selection is large and varied. Located on Garfield Avenue, they are easy to get in and out of and the parking is ample. I only choose to shop this resale shop when I don't have time for the alternitives.

PROS: good parking
CONS: iffy service-sales people making deals with friends.
