I switched to this studio and immediately improved, I improved more at this studio in 6 months than I did in 3 years at my old studio. I sincerely believe that this is the best studio in Michigan. (also ranked #3 in Nation) The staff are amazing, Miss V is the best ballet instructor I have ever taken class from. Mr. Mike is also an amazing choreographer and teacher. Miss Julie is kind of old-school, but she is the most generous and caring person I have ever meant. I drove an hour and a half 5 days a week to dance at this studio, and I have no regrets. If you notice, every single dancer there is well-rounded and has good technique. The studio itself is an amazing facility, the main room is over 3000sq ft. its absolutely beautiful. As for the drama being in some of the reviews, I never noticed it. I came from a studio where the instructor played favorites and was unfair. So when I switched to JAOD it was a culture shock. They are professional and caring people. It really is like belonging to a family, all of the dancers get along and really rely on eachother to pull all of the dances together. I also like how Miss Julie doesnt make friends with the parents (or suck up to them), its not her job to be your friend, its her job to make sure your child is a beautiful dancer. They are very well priced as well. You just pay tuition and are enrolled in as many dances as they put you in, its awesome. They also welcome all dancers to their technique classes (weather you dance there or not) its a great way to see if you want to switch studios, or if you just need a great workout! My senior year I had an injury and could not dance, I was heartbroken. Miss Julie was so caring and included me in everything. She even gave me the "dancer of the year" award at the recital. I truley love this studio and hope that my children can dance there one day. As for the costumes being risque, the judges want to see your lower back and tummy to make sure you have correct technique and your legs to make sure they are stretched. They are tastfully done. I promise that you will be impressed with Juliana's, theres no doubt about it. Fantastic Studio.
Please be advised- this studio is for serious dancers looking to make a career out of dance. They are strict and keep the dancers in line you wont get away with rolling your eyes at the teachers or being lazy in class. If you just want a crappy studio to play around in and take a weekly hip hop class this is not it.

Unfortunately, the DRAMA and unstable adult behavior is outweighing the good technique training that has been offered in the past. Check out your facts carefully before you put your child's future in the hands of this studio--regretfully must concur with the specifics in the JAD M. spot on assessment. Very sad but true.

The technique training is very good and most of the teachers are good with their students but it is not always the healthiest place for kids. Children are in one minute and out the next. Owner pits dhildren against each other, is highly unprofessional and feeds on & engages in gossip and drama about children & parents. Private information about teachers, students and families are inappropriately shared. Owner complains about not making enough money and is constantly gauging her clients with new fees and increases. Asking questions can get you in trouble. Getting phone calls returned is difficult. Office staff can be very rude. Unstable environment--you never know what you will get when you walk into the studio. If you can survive the irradic behavior & drama your kids will learn how to dance here. There are more stable, warm and healthy studios that have good technique out there. Dances, music and costumes are getting more risque and inappropriate.

The dancers here are wonderful. I have only had good experiences with the dancers from this studio. If you want your child to get excellent training this would be the place to go too.

very thorough dance studio. the instructors here are really into helping their clients learn the art of dance. whether its ballet, tap or any other kind of dance, they are very professional in their instructions. they have a lot of patience with the very young kids (and older kids too lol). I love this place and recommend it to any parent looking for a great place for their child to learn dance.
