At first things were ok. Then a drug dealer moved in above us. Every single day, Every single night, ALL DAY, this crackhead played his murder rap as loud as it would go with absolutely NO consideration for anyone else in the complex. This

Old Town Realty was very unhelpful to me. My security deposit was not returned until the very last day of the return period although for that entire time they assured me a check was in the mail. Also, in trying to apply for a new apartment, they did not ever return the reference sheet to the screening company.

I've rented my place thru Old Town for the past 5 years and have had nothing but wonderful things to say about them,
They have many properties for rent - but they take a personal interest in making sure their clients are well taken care of.

The staff (Ann + Rudy) are professional, kind and helpful.
I rarely had any problems with the property I rented, but the occasional minor repairs I did need - were taken care of promptly and efficiently by the maintanence staff.

I am moving out-of-state soon - but I would definatley use Old Town again when I return to A2.
Thanks Old Town ..... its been great !!

I rented from Old Town for a year before moving out of state. I always enjoyed visiting their office and the staff was always very helpful and polite. The apartment I rented was clean and well taken care of, a definite plus from other college apartments I'd lived in. There were a few maintenance issues, like a broken lock and homeless people in the stairwell, but the owner of this building was expressly responsible for maintenance and not Old Town. In fact, after getting no response from the landlord over these problems I informed Old Town of the issues and they sent someone out immediately. I was very happy with their service and encourage all my friends to rent from them and not sleazy Varsity or Prime. When I needed to sublet my apartment they made it very simple and easy for both parties.

PROS: Reliable, cheap for the area, courteous
CONS:

Like the other person said. they do have an attitude problem. I end up not renting from them even though I viewed some of their apartments. They seems knowgeable in showing their apartments etc but then they also give you a "take it or leave it" kind of attitude. It's probably there are a high demand in student housing in Ann Arbor and they do not have problems in renting out their places. However if you are looking for great service, you should find management elsewhere. I 'd not recommend using this service.

While I haven't actually looked at any of the properties through Old Town Realty, what I can tell you is that I did receive some attitude when I called looking for housing on campus in Ann Arbor. When the agent asked what I was looking for, I stated my specifications (knowing perfectly well the housing market in Ann Arbor after living their for 5 years) I was told either I'd find efficiencies (which is what I was looking for anyway) or a four leaf clover in my pocket. After receiving such attitude, and realizing their apartments were priced too high compared to the market, I decided to not have further dealings with Old Town Realty as I was put off by the attitude I received over the phone. If that's what they give you to get you in the door, imagine the treatment once you've leased through them.
