I was looking for a small bulb for a 30 year old Schwinn Light set. The gentleman behind the counter dug out an old box and gave me exactly what I needed. I was impressed so we started talking. He knew everything about my old bike and even had an new old stock rack that was made for my bike. I purchased the rack and some fenders. Later when I had some trouble installing the fenders, I took my bike there and they sorted out my problem, no charge. Maybe I caught them on a good day, but both of the gentlemen working were very helpful and they seemed to have quite a stash of old parts. I'll be going back for more!

I went in there yesterday (August 20, 2010) to just inquire about replacing one of the tires on my old, but quality bike. I was shown a few different types with varying prices. I was only going to buy one, but the price was VERY reasonable so I decided to buy two. I am from Windsor and was visiting for the weekend so my own tools were back home. I had Dave, who I believe is the owner/manager, put them on for me. As he did so, we chatted about a wide range of topics. Believe it or not, my girlfriend and I actually enjoyed the time we spent waiting for my tires to be finished. At most stores these days, you are on your own and definitely don't get that kind of friendly and personalized service. I will definitely be going back soon to get my brake cables replaced. Very good prices, high quality parts, and extremely high quality service. Thanks!!!

I am a bike enthusiast. I have several bikes that I've needed work on over time. They're generally not very friendly and it seems like they only accept work reluctantly. Consequently, I have taken my bikes elsewhere when I can (even though I have to drive 30 minutes away) and the hundreds of dollars I've spent in labor alone for upgrades etc was given to the other bike shop. I still go to the Farmington bike shop sometimes because it is close to home, but I'd much rather go to my favorite bike shop--Cycleworks in Clawson on 14 Mile Rd. Those guys are great to work with and welcome all the work I want to give them.

Pros: They're close to home

Cons: Unfriendly, just seem to want to sell me a new bike.

Went to have a flat tire repaired. Was told by the older gentleman to bring it back to WalMart or where ever I bought it to have it fixed. I will read review first from now on. I only went there because I'm not from the Michigan area and wanted to patronize local business. No thanks.

Bottom line, rude, rude, rude. The guy helping me was an older man so I assume he may be an owner, and I was only getting my bike fixed, but I don't remember ever being treated that way in a store, and I assure you that if I have I never went back for more!! Too many hurting businesses to patron one that doesn't treat you right!

I was surprised to see good reviews on this site because my experience wasn't good. Their selection was so-so, but what turned me off to the store was their service. The help was not friendly. In fact I felt a little uncomfortable being in the store. The workers just stood behind the counter and stared at me as I looked around the store. It is very uncomfortable being stared at while trying to shop. I went to the counter to ask a few questions but the answers I got where short and abrupt... not helpful and certainly not friendly. I went in to buy a seat. When I asked a question about the seats I received an answer that didn't come close to answering the question I asked. It was a very awkward situation. When shopping in a specialty shop like that (be it for bikes, shoes, etc) and you ask a question my experience is that the workers are very helpful in answering and educating you about the products. Not at this store. Also, another thing that was a complete turn-off... the store smelled like cigarette smoke. This is a bike shop and should be promoting being outdoors and living a healthy life style, and it stinks like cigarettes. I could still smell the smoke on me an hour after I left the shop. Maybe they have a good repair shop, but I certainly won't go back there to buy anything.

This bike shop has been here for years not sure if same owners or not but all have been helpful and friendly. If they don't have what you need they will order it for you. My Mom got all her bike stuff here and now I do.
