My cat got sick last year and we took her to the humane society, they were very helpful, my cat unfortunately had leukemia and had to be put to sleep, but they were very understanding and let us stay with her as long as we wanted.the prices are very reasonable, and its a great place to adopt pets, about 10 years ago I adopted a great dog there.

searched for a kitten to provide company for my older cat. I found the Human Society to be a pretty good place. The staff is helpful and patient. My daughter wanted to touch and hold almost every cat we say. The cages seem clean and the animals well cared for. They do of course insist on spaying, which is a good thing. We did finally pick out a cute little calico and returned several days later to pick her up. I have always liked the Human Society and their good work. I would recommend this facility, and like the staff is very good,

I adopted a Jack Russell Terrier mix who was very timid and shy and decided to take her here for lessons and training. I was enrolled in a group class to take the lessons and the class size was very small (less than 5 people) and my dog got very special one on one attention for several sessions. My dog became too scared to participate and the humane society then switched my dog over to have a free private evaluation and 3 free private sessions all for the cost of the initial class...So they are very understanding, patient, and willing to be flexible in situations involving animals with special needs. The woman who trains is a expert often seen on local news stations, and is even better in person!

PROS: May not be centrally located to many people
CONS: Low priced, very flexible, high quality expert dog trainers, one on one

These wonderful, but overworked and understaffed folks, treat us with dignity and respect when the time came to put our old dog to sleep. They were the soul of human kindness.
We've turned strays into them, and support them with donations of food, pet toys and newspaper!
They are always kind and grateful for what we give them, they do get busy, so patience is rewarded.
An orgainizatoin, make great by its people!

PROS: Continued good work for all animals!

I adopted my first cat here and they were great. They let me look as long as I needed to find the perfect cat for me. When I found a cat they let me sit with her for a while to see how she would react. They do great work with the animals and I will go back in the futre for other animals. If you are looking to adopt an animal this is the place to go. Very curtious and helpful.

When we decided to get a companion cat for our 1 year old kitty, we decided to go to the shelters and 'rescue' a cat. The Humane Society was so friendly, they were patient and kind in helping me and one of my sons find a perfect pet! They made the adoption proceedure very painless and quite positive. The only downside is that is was hard to walk away with just one when you saw all the beautiful cats that they had! :)

PROS: Brought home a wonderful companion
CONS: Made us want more!

We got our first cat from the Michigan Humane Society and he has been great! We recently added another cat to our household from another local organization, but we bring both of them to the Michigan Humane Society for veterinary visits. I like giving our business to them because they help homeless animals. It can be busy in their waiting area...so make sure you make an appointment! I find their services are very well priced and they are all working for a great cause.

The Michigan Humane Society is a wonderful place to adopt a cat or dog. They offer pets, both young and old at affordable rates that will make excellent pets. They also provide full vetrinary services and pet training programs. The staff shows an obvious care of animals, and provide a great deal of information to the community.
