Wow - we got our wedding cake here in 2004 and it was horrible. Beautiful cake but dried up and tasted bad.

My first wedding back in 77 I ordered it in Hamtramck and it was wonderful (marriage sucked 24 years but cake was good even a year after freezing). I guess you have to have a bad cake for a fantastic marriage? We tossed the rest out after the ceremony.

Never again- they were also very rude at the time when we ordered- sounds like the same drill sergent is still working there.

Went in and ordered a Baptism cake for my son for the next week (sunday) to be picked up on Saturday (the day before). When we picked up the cake, it was NOT the cake we ordered. We ordered the bible cake with "God Bless Chase on his Baptism" on the first page with an icing cross on the 2nd page of the "open bible" and we had requested minimal use of flowers as it's for a boy. What we got was a square full sheet cake with the words and a cross and a bunch of flowers. They didnt apologize for doing the wrong cake. They did not give us a discount. They said we could re-order the right cake, but it would not be ready by the next morning. As if we could easily reschedule a Baptism with 55 people coming!! We will NEVER again use this bakery and DO NOT recommend that anyone else use it either. No apology or discount for THEIR screw up!!!!

Many years ago, my dad ran a bakery in Hamtramck. His clientel was mostly Polish and Jewish. This is the only place we can get good pumpernickle bread. We moved to northern Michigan 11 years ago. We drive 200+ miles to purchase pumpernickle bread, 12 loaves at a time. Perfecting this recipe is not a simple task. We cannot buy anything like this where we live. Now, if we could only get them to ship their products.

I ordered a cake from the Sweetheart store in Warren for my engagement party on 05/08/10. The design was beautiful, but the cake itself was dry!. This is the first time I placed an order from this particular Sweetheart Bakery and I was shocked. My family has been a customer of the Harper Woods store for the past 10 years and we never had a problem. I was hoping to have them make my wedding cake, but after Saturday I won't.

I've had the experience of being helped at the Moross Rd/Kelly store in Harper Woods and the store on Van Dyke in Warren; the Kelly Rd store did my wedding cake and it was wonderful--everyone raved about it then I ordered a 50 anniversary carrot cake/wedding cake from the Van Dyke bakery and the staff was less than helpful and when we got the cake it tasted like it had been freezer burned and was old--I've like their restaurant in Warren but their bakery needs better more willing happy help.

There service is terrible. My daughter went there to order her wedding cake and was not waited on for a long time, when she was the staff acted like she was a bother. It was a horrible experience for what was suppose to be a happy - exciting experience.

I have yet to order my cake from this bakery, so although I cant comment on the taste I will be unable to do so because of the staff. Walking in no one was welcoming and seemed irritated and unhelpful to say the least. I was told to visit the website and come back, as if I have time and or gas for that. First impressions really make a difference and I was not at all impressed; and although all staff members may not make the cakes, being knowledgeable on possible prices and designs would be helpful just to come across as caring. As the title of this may express...They didn't seem very interested in gaining my business.

I called to obtain information on ordering a cake, and trying to get information out of the sales person on the phone was like pulling teeth. she was definitely unconcerned about making a sale, and seemed put out in having to answer any questions. She cut me off serveral times while I was asking questions. This has been my bakery of choice in the past, but based on this recent encounter, I would NOT even think about ordering a cake from there. From what I've heard this is not an isolated incidence.

Women at the counter was rude. Felt as thou I was a burden. Not helpful at all. I will never go there again and will certainly spread the word. She was annoyed that I asked to see a book of cake ideas. No one was in the bakery,no line no one. Terrible experience. A bakery should be fun.

I grew up with my mother getting all my birthday and big event cakes from sweetheart bakery. I loved them then and still do 17 years later. When I got married, I took my husband there to show him what I would love every year for my birthday cake and now that I have my own baby, I will continue the trend with his birthdays. The staff and both location are always helpful, pateint, and sweet!

When my daughter had a Sweet 16, They were so nice! They were willing and able to meet my order very quickly and the cake came out beautiful. They always keep their customers first! I would reccommend everyone to SweetHeart Bakery! They are such SweetHearts!!

Sweetheart Bakery staff was very lazy and unconcerned about getting my order to me. They didn't make what I requested (in person and by phone) and tried to sell me something I didn't order or ask for. I will never do business with you again and I will tell everyone what horrible customer service you have.

Sweetheart has some of the best tasting cakes and their staff is very helpful and knowledgable. They can do just about anything and you don't have to reserve them too far in advance. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other bakeries in the area.

For many occassions, including my daughter's birthday party, we've ordered many cakes from here. They're always delicious, well presented, and enjoyable. Everything at a good price. They also have great donuts. So if you have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you.

I had never known of the Sweetheart Bakery until I married my husband. Every holiday my Mother In Law gets coffee cakes from there. Oh my gosh! To die for. I have been in the bakery myself and found that everyone there is very nice. Well worth the little extra drive.

I got my wedding cake from the Sweetheart bakery and I loved it. It was very reasonable in price. I believe I thought the delivery was a little steep but overall it was worth every penny. All the guests seemed to have enjoyed it as well. They have a wide variety of designs and types of cakes.

The Sweetheart Bakery has so many scrumptous looking cakes and candies, you won't know where to start.
You can also have lunch or dinner there and then have dessert. Or take a bag home to enjoy later.
My grandsons have had their meet Santa Christmas breakfast there several times. The kids really enjoy it and the chocolate candies that they get in the bags.
Forget calorie counting when you go there.
