very compassionate

i used a different vet in the area for years and was shown no loyalty. i switched to dr groehn and have wished over and over i would've done it sooner. i am very happy w/ the dr, the staff, and the site. i've never had a problem having phone calls returned - always very prompt. my dog got very very sick this year and i cannot imagine having to go through what we did w/ any other group of people. they are wonderful

Five-Star Vet and Staff
by Aileen B.
Last year I moved to the Milford area from New York and needed to find a Doc for Nicky, my Yorkie. As a previous reviewer suggested I did my 'Home Work'. I have to thank that reviewer because in that homework I found Dr. Groehn. She's the best! She really cares about her work, her patients and their family, is knowledgeable, understanding, thorough and gentle. The staff is great too. They're professional, friendly and make visiting the vet almost pleasant for Nicky! It clear that they and Dr. Groehn make a good team.

Take the good with the bad....
I started using this vet because of the location. I like Dr. Groehn, who is very kind and knowledgeable. The prices though seem expensive, and they will not work with you on payments like other vets have. The atmosphere is OK, the TV plays an annoying DVD over and over but they do work hard on getting you in at your appointment time. Also, if you leave a message or need the vet to call you back it can take days!

Great care and service!

I would recommend Highland Veterinary Hospital to anyone who is looking for an excellent vet! All of my pets enjoy going to the vet for the first time ever. Dr Groehn is very knowledgeable and caring. I am very sure my pets are in good hands when I leave. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

A little confused....
by Anonymous
I am not sure I would recommend this vet. They seem to get things very confused, files, meds. I cannot get an answer to why when I ordered medicine for my cat the first 2 times I had gotten a different dose and different amount, I think I got ripped. They're pretty expensive to boot. Just make sure you double check everything! Sometimes get double charged. They are very compassionate folks though.

I really like the fact they know us by name (my dogs) and treat her as if she were their own. The staff has gone out of their way to give her attention, and she always gets plenty of cookies when she goes there. They have also consulted specialists to help with her case.Prices are competitive.
PROS: Accepts pet insurance
CONS:

Great Docs and Staff
by Rosy
I highly recommend Highland Vet Hospital even though there are a couple others close by. The Doctors and staff at Highland are kind, understanding, experienced and really care about me and my cat. They make sure I know what the meds are for and how to give them. And Dr. Groehn takes time to talk to me about the problem and how to fix it. Somebody else might complain about the cost, but I think they're in line with everyone else. Good Vet hospital.
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
