The farmers market is a great place to pick up fresh food. It's open two or three days during the week, but I've only ever gone on a Saturday. Get there early, because the traffic and parking can be a problem. I usually park a few blocks away and walk to the entrance. Make sure to bring a basket to hold all your purchases. You're sure to leave with more then you thought. This is also a great way to support local artist and farmers.

The farmers market has been around as long as I remember. I went there 40 years ago with my Mom and Grandma. There are still many of the same vendors. The market has really progressed. There are many organic vendors. Produce, flowers, plants, crafts, spices, baked goods are just a few of the wonderful things offered. Get there early for best selection and many of the vendors close up at 12 or 1. Great neighborhood feel. You will find what you are looking for. Open Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat. Maybe other days for special sales. Best off parking on a side street and walking, rather than to try to park there.

PROS: So much to choose from
CONS: Parking and traffic

the Fulton Street Farmer's Market is just wonderful. You can get fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers. What better than supporting local farmers? They also have local artist that sell their jewelry, crafts, flowers from local farms, fresh baked goods. I have been going here since I was little, it is a great place to go to get fresh veggies and fruit. In the fall there are local farmers selling Christmas trees, fresh garland and wreaths also. On Sundays they also have local crafters and artist only selling their items.

Shopping for produce and flowers the way it is suppose to be. This market is perfect on a crisp Saturday morning strolling down the market to look at the various local farmers products. This is a true old fashioned shopping experience, and you feel it when you pick out your own fresh veggies and fruits, homemade breads or jams from local farmers. Don't bring your credit card, just your quarters and dollars!

PROS: Great shopping experience, local, fresh, fun, inexpensive
CONS: Getting up early enough to get the best selection:)
