Saw a sign from the highway and we were very hungry, so we thought, why not? Really looks like a dive from the outside, not too much better from the inside....The waitress/bartender that took care of us was very friendly and efficient. Had no idea this place was one of the places, on the TV show till we looked at the menu...I ordered the Gizzards and they were very, very, good my friend had the fried shrimp also very good, cole slaw was excellent, fresh and homemade not from a bucket. I would go back, ask for chicken livers, not on the menu but he (owner) came out asked us about our meal. I asked about livers and he does them up special order.

On the down side, this place is a dive. On the up side, the food was quite good. If you judge them by the exterior, you probably will have second thoughts about going in. I tried the deep fried burger and it was GOOD! I expected it to be floating in grease, but that was not the case. We got the gizzard sampler plate and none of us liked them that much. Everything else we ordered was darned good at a great price. We try to stay away from deep fried food, but occasionally you just have to go for it. When nothing but deep fried will do, Joe's is the place to go.

Our waitress was obviously overworked, but was friendly and got everything right. She earned her 20% tip.

I also recommend their Long Island Iced Tea. Served in a Mason Jar and you are limited to two. An excellent adult beverage. If you are the driver, you shouldn't even have one.

Summing up our experience all I can say is, "I'll be back!"

Alright, it does not take a rocket sciencest to know that Joe's Gizzard City is not a fine dining place! But it is not how the place looks, its the food that counts! And Joe's has some pretty amazing food, if you like deep fried everything! (well almost everything)

The main attraction at Joe's are the Deep Fried Gizzards. And these are pretty darn good! Their hand battered onions rings - yummy, the best ever. They also have whole chicken dinners, sandwiches and salads and more. The most outlandish thing here - the Triple D Burger - huge, and of course deep fried!

Then there are the desserts - deep fried twinkees, oreos all deep fried too. These were really good, you have to try them.

The staff is overworked the place is so busy, but they are mostly friendly and fast. We had great food on our visit!

Drove 1 1/2 hours to go to this place...My gut feeling should have warned me for what was inside...Outside was not clean or well maintained and I commented I hope the inside was better, it was not!...Place was filthy, smoky no designated smoking areas...Gizzards had no flavor and was just cover in a batter and covered with spice...I ordered a Prime Rib sandwich with onion rings(got fries instead, mistake by waitress) and coleslaw...Prime Rib was tainted and inedible and mostly fat...Fries were cold, and the slaw was slimy verging on spoiled. We also order the "D" burger, also covered in batter and no flavor...We took all home to our dogs who seemed to like it...Would NEVER recommend to anyone...
We went as Guy Fieri said it was a great place...If I were him, I would take my name off this place ASAP!

Waitress was very nice though, but she did get our orders wrong.
