Charlar Place Banquet And Catering

Charlar Place held my Halloween Party! We were ushered by great caterers, after the catering portion all the attention turned to the creative talent... it was unbelievable how all of the designer created decorations that were so original ! They recreated all of our fun as kids! They even helped add fun house items and gave us all of their ideas all we had to do was say what type of place it was!

PLEASE IF YOU ARE EVEN CONSIDERING THIS PLACE, LOOK ELSE WHERE, THE WHOLE PLACE IS A BIG RIP OFF, THEY CHARGE FOR EVERY LITTLE THING AND THINK THEY ARE GIVING YOU A DEAL, AND THEY DONT WANT KIDS THERE, SHELLY THREATEND TO CHARGE US $12 PER ROCK IF THE KIDS THREW THEM INTO THE POND. THATS NOT IT, THEY WOULDNT LET US IN THE NIGHT BEFORE TO DECORATE AND WERE AN HOUR LATE LETING US IN ON THE WEDDING DAY, NO SYMPATHY WHAT SO EVER FOR LEAVING US OUT IN THE RAIN FOR AND HOUR, JUST SMART REMARKS AND ATTITUDE FROM SHELLY. FOOD WAS NOT AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE PRICE, AND OVERALL, YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER FOR THE PRICE, TRY THE WHEATFIELD IN LOCATED IN WILLIAMSTON, FOR THE SAME PRICE WE SPENT AT CHARLAR WE COULD HAVE HAD 5 ROOMS FOR THE WEEKEND PLUS THE WEDDING, AND RECEPTION.

Overall is was a great experience, staff was friendly and very quick. Loved how they were there when I needed them. The food was great, green beans a little warmer

In the days leading up to my wedding Shelly had no idea what was going on. She called my house and left an angry message saying I was supposed to be there for an appointment when I wasn`t. She was late or not there at all on some of the appointments that we actually did have with her. She mailed me a huge bill after I paid for everything. My mother in law called to talk to her about our rehearsal dinner and she had no idea who we were. She was very rude every time I dealt with her, and on my wedding day she said NOTHING to me. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner is very unprofessional.

Cons: The lady who owns it has no idea what`s going on.

Dear Mrs. Slee, as you know we had a great night and celebrated this great event at the Plumbers Hall in Lansing. One of the reasons this event was so successful was the food that was catered by you. Your attention to detail was outstanding, the food was delcious and your staff made sure every need was attened to. The other County Elected Officials that were part of the event also advised me how much they enjoyed your presentation as well.\r

I attended a wedding and reception at the Charlar Place and have to take the time to mention how amazing the place is. The grounds are well kept and the staff is professional looking and acting. The program went the way my friend wanted it and couldn't of ran more smooth. The Owner was there at the beginning to ensure everything is in place and then left the rest up to the managers and staff in which she should be proud for the great pride and seriousness they have for the place. \r

I have had the pleasure of hiring Charlar Place for several events, and was most satisfied with the owner and the staff. The uniforms the staff wears are clean and quite professional and Shelley couldnt have been more helpful and accomadating. The food was over the top, and beautifully presented and plenty of food to go around at least twice. We employed Charlar Place for a family funeral, and family wedding, and some outside catering at my place of business. We also rented Charlar for our family Christmas. We were expecting a large amount of family to be together and no place big enough for the price. The Charlar was perfect and beautifully decorated for the occasion. They worked with our family budget and everyone was very pleased. We will continue to use the Charlar Place for all of our events. Thank you Shelley and staff for maintaining such a beautiful establishment to hold all our memories. Having the owner involved is a plus and how wonderfully kind she was to our family. Shelley puts the perfect finishing touches on all the events I have had there and would be disappoint if anyone other than Shelley were the one I had to deal with.

i recently attended a wedding at the charlar place and i wanted to take the time to write about how much my husband and i enjoyed being guests because of the facility! First off there food was the best i have ever had at a wedding, the staff was very helpful and on top of things etc. My family (the bride's side) said that they were very pleased with the turnout of the hall. just wanted to place a hopefully helpful consumer report for anyone interested in booking with them!

Pros: great food, nice staff!
