We do charge non-refundable bench fees to diagnose problems with customer??s units that are brought into our store??s Service Department. Our technician??s time is equally valuable whether they are working on a unit that can be fixed or a unit that cannot. Our customers are ALWAYS made aware of this when they first bring the unit in to our store. If the estimate for repair is over an agreed upon limit, we ALWAYS call the customer for approval before proceeding on the repair.

Contrary to the assertion in the aforementioned review, we do NOT stray from the estimate approved without the customer??s awareness and full consent. That simply does not happen.

We have conducted business in Mt. Pleasant for 25 years. In that time we have serviced close to 5,000 pieces of equipment and have thrived in no small part because we do treat our customers fairly. As is universally known, this sort of forum allows anonymity which relieves the reviewer of the burden of objective truth and personal accountability.

My almost new Vizio LCD just wouldent turn on. Past warranty, of course as it always seems to be. I could not find any help with Vizo searching the internet for repairs. All the places I found online made the repair seem quite pricey. I was about to replace it with a new tv but before I did I stubled accrost main street audio video in the phonebook. When I called they offered me in home or in store repair but advised me to go for the instore repair because it saved on my overall cost. I opted to take my TV in. When I got there they helped me carry my tv in and I felt very reasurred by the professionalism of the staff that it was in good hands and becase their technician had been doing TV repairs for over 20 years. Two days later they called with an estimate and gave me an approzimate time of when the repairs would be completed. While I was there the UPS guy came in and it was apparent that they had and he had developed a great rapport with him and the local community.

This store was very professional and upfront on there costs. I even asked about fixing another item and they advised me not to as it was not something they thought could be repaired without spending more on repairs than it was worth. They even gave me a discount on a new item for thanking me for bringing my business.

Main Street Audio Video is the best. Given how these flat screens seem to go down and how lousy the warranties seem to be, I am deffinatly keeping there number handy!

Of course once you've sunk that kind of money into something, you either pay the difference at their mercy, or you forfit the first amount you paid and still have a non-working component. Go somewhere else, even if you have to drive a long ways, Lansing, Saginaw, Detroit - but not here.
