I hired Joe Corriveau for a divorce/custody hearing. He showed up late to just about every hearing and didn't even show up at all for a dispute against retroactive child support that the FOC recommended I not have to pay and therefore the judge ruled against me. Joe then advised me to give up the money that my ex was supposed to pay me to get him to drop the Retroactive suit. After paying him 20K within a few months, I ran out of money so he said we could work it out after. He then wanted me to cash in my retirement and take a 20K hit in taxes and penalties just so he could get paid in one lump sum. When I didn't want to do that, he filed a court case against me. I responded and told him I would go to court because I didn't think a judge would make me do that. He then said he was disappointed about that but asked me sign paperwork agreeing to 300/month which I did. Not being an attorney, it turned out that the paperwork was filed in court against me as a judgment so now I cannot even get a mortgage until it's paid off or 7 years. They are criminals in that office and he used the court system to try and scare me into paying 18K in a lump sum and is now using the mark on my credit to try and manipulate me into paying him off in a lump sum. He says he will remove it if I pay him the total due.

I was a client of Richards. He talked a very big game when I first met with. I was apprehensive to hire him due to what appeared to be a declining mentation. But I was desperate for help so I hired him. Richard was very forgetful. He did not use a computer. Any time I had a question I had to make an appointment which was billed at 350$ an hour. 2 of the 3 legal assistants were rude and not helpful. I spent 8 months with Richard and nothing was resolved with my case. He gave me very bad advice, which I found out after retaining new council. Richard repeatedly threatened to "fire" me. He violated the attorney client relationship. His daughter meddled in my case and would share personal information (we live in a very small city) with acquaintances. Richard violated my trust. He let me down. I spent a lot of money with him and felt that I did not recieve services I needed. I think Richard is way out of his prime and should consider retiring. He has to be close to 80 years old and it is showing in his work. I would not recommend him.

They are a joke.. expensive and absolutely unethical. The son can speau off into tangents that are not even related except to text books or someone else??s pre-prepared documents.. If you are looking for a puppet that can dance he is your man.. if you are looking for an educated and talented lawyer then pick any one of them out of the yellow pages.. you??ll have a better outcome!

I disagree, Joe was my lawyer, and he got my drug case completely dismissed! Richard and Joe are both intelligent attorneys with good relationships with the local courts. They let me work out a payment plan, I am pretty sure I never could have afforded a quality lawyer elsewhere. I liked that they are a small firm, cared about me, and I would have been screwed without the Corriveaus, but they saved my life! I highly recommend their services.

You're better off accepting a court-appointed attorney then spending the money on these jokers. While they are certainly competent attorneys, they simply have too many cases for the miniature three lawyer firm to handle. You'd hope such a small group of legal experts would be able to provide personalized service, but I found every time I tried to get a hold of my lawyer (he never offered me his personal phone number or email), the receptionist would try to answer my intricate legal questions. You don't usually hire a lawyer to have the secretary try and answer your legal queries, do you? Do yourself a favor and try someone else.

My mother used Mr Corriveau when she filed for Social Security. She had already been turned down by Social Security and was afraid she would be again. Mr Corriveau took her case and went to court with her. They won. I would recommend him as a attorney.
