In my last 15 years living in all different places acrss different states, I have never ever seen an apartment duty manager as rude as the one in this apartment. When I helped my friend moving into this apartment, since we had 5 boxes to carry to a high floor, we held the elevator to move all the 5 boxes in, after we held the elevator for 20-30 seconds, it started to beap, immediately we heard a loud voice shouting "close the elevator!". He shouted 3 times within 2 seconds, we even did not figure out where he was shouting from but we closed the elevator immediately and let it ran to the right floor. When we were moving the boxes out of the elevator and to the room, the man who just shouted followed us all the way to the room, he looked so angry (even though we had no idea where the anger was coming from), he shouted and shouted, repeatedly using dirt words lik "bull Sh-t", "F-ck" and warned that we would be fined for $150 because we held the elevator. We apologized many times and explained that we were just moving in and did not know that we couldn't hold the elevator and that there were no any signs inside or outside the elevator telling not to hold it. He obviously did not accept our apologizes at all. When we left the building and sat in my mini van, I saw someone shouting and quickly approaching to us: "Open the f-ck window! F-cker!" -- I looked outside my van, it was him again -- no idea what he wanted to do, but since it was late in the evening, we quickly fleed away, it was horrible experience!

To simply begin is far to difficult...I suppose I'll begin with the "secured parking" in which many cars have been stolen, broken into, and lets not forget about the gas people are stealing out of our cars. Next the recent construction of their new bar has been a wonderful experience as well; constant water turn-offs, lack of pressure, and the best is no one to fix it! Than I guess next is you have to pay your own heat in the winter. The owner decided to put in (half-a***) electric heaters that hang out your outside walls, which is nice when you feel the breeze of a 20 degree winter while your windows freeze all over. I suppose another this is the bar, which is connected to the building and drunk boys are always trying to sneak into the building to get to whatever! Bottom line... DON'T LIVE HERE!!!

Do not move to this building. You will not get a security deposit back and if by chance you do it will be late and less than you expect even if you did not damage your unit. Maintenance requests are never met, the building manager Mike will laugh off any question with a "yeah, i'll send someone right up" only to never actually do it. When i was moving out of my unit he let a tenant move their stuff in 5 days before the end of the month w/ out asking my persion and w/ out paying me rent which i already paid. He is rude, unprofessional, swears at clients, and a terrible excuse for a manager. If you wan't to live in a buildling with asbestos, broken in walls, loud hallways, broken a/c units, cockroachs, and a terrible manager.. choose the belcrest.

If you are looking for a spacious, bright and airy apartment with class and atmosphere, look no further. The apartments in this building are simply manificent: high ceilings, thick walls, security, and the charm of the 1920s. Location is great too if you work at Wayne State University or nearby. There is even a secure parking lot avaiable for a few quid extra. During the summer, there is a wonderful outdoor swimming pool to enjoy. This building has charm and history and is smack dab in the middle of Detroit's Cultural Center.
