Witt Harlan A Dvm - Hartrick Veterinary Clinic

Hartrick is out to make a buck. Our dog had surgery ($500) to remove lump related to her vaccine. Vet tried to upsell on all sorts of things (flea preventative for $28 in January?? $38 for a Bordetella vaccine... how is that going to be effective if given 5 mins before potential exposure??) Vet tech got very rude when we refused. The only thing they DIDN'T offer was pain meds. Our dog has 8" of stitches & we're told pain meds are unnecessary (as well as post-op antibiotics). At 11pm she's started whining in pain. We called the 24 hr vet recommended by Hartrick and they refuse to do anything without seeing her.... an additional $200! Where is the line between veterinary care and racket?We won't be going back to Hartrick. We don't feel they had our pets' well-being at heart. It is our opinion that they are primarily out to make a buck. Be aware.

I have 6 dogs that I take here and I wouldn't go anywhere else! My dogs have seen all 3 vets on staff and each were very knowledgable and wonderful. I always recommend them when I can, they are expensive but like the saying...you get what you pay for! Not to mention they give a discount for multiple pets, which is appreciated! The office staff and techs are very welcoming when I call or come in!! they treat my dogs how I treat my dogs.

I have taken my pets here for years. Unfortunately, my beloved Miss Pearl died after a very long illness in which she was given the best care. I felt that Dr. Witt treated my pet like a human. The care and concern and utmost dignity was unbelieveable. Everyone in this clinic is very qualifed, top notich and the best Vet I have ever dealt with for my pets. Dr. Witt is the best. I feel very confident bringing my pets here. No matter who we deal with, we are treated with respect and everything is explained to us. The fees are reasonable and everything is up front and honest. I could not be happier. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants the best care for their pets. Also, I have NEVER experienced Dr. Witt to be anything but wonderful. There must be a mix up.

We have been bringing dogs (large and small), rabbits, and guinea pigs here since 1982. The staff and the doctors have always treated my pets - as well as us - with dignity, concern, and the utmost professionalism. Our animals were well cared for and the procedures throroughly explained and performed. We highly recommend this clinic.

I have gone to Hartrick for over five years, and I have never found Dr Witt to be arrogant by any stretch of the imagination. There was another vet in the practice who was a little pompous (although he gave great care to my pets) and I wonder if a previous reviewer might have confused them. (This vet is no longer there). I was referred there by a friend with several dogs who has always liked the care there. I was especially grateful when they were treating a stray I had rescued who had a potential serious condition (fortunately, it was a side effect from his injury and it cleared up). They were most wonderful about laying out all the treatment options.

I took my dog there on several occasions, there was always a student representing the physical. This is fine however, the appointments were made specifically with Dr. Witt. After several visits to the clinic, I finally saw Dr. Witt and he was a arrogant, SOB. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

As soon as you enter Hartrick Vet, you feel very welcomed. The walls are painted with muerels of dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc. As soon as you enter with your pet, the staff remembers the pet's name as they greet you. The vets take their time to answer all your questions and you never feel rushed. They are a bit on the expensive side on the medicine, but they welcome price matching.

PROS: very welcoming
CONS: a bit pricy
