Choreography, variety, skill, techinique and family atmosphere all make this the best place to study dance in Livingston. The #1 thing that sets Michelle's apart is ownership...we all feel it...the kids have input in to music, costumes, choreography. Parents have opportunities to dance, fundraise, help with event and behind-the-scenes. We all do it because we love it.

Not all dance studios are the same...Michelle's (MAD-PAC) is the fourth studio we've attended in Livingston. This is not the whole story: Michelle taught at one of the previous studios, and we followed her over to her new business. Michelle was the soul of the operation, and Mrs. King, the office manager, was the heart. I was thrilled to hear that Michelle would have all of the glory and heart-ache that comes with ownership. I was concerned at first that she would get caught up in the details of ownership, but she was smart enough to bring Mrs. King with her...and keep dance first. New and existing instructors bring different styles and strengths to the table. Kathy King is now teaching - she has professional ties to the dance world, and it is obvious she loves the craft as much as Michelle.

Experienced dancers are allowed to help with classes and choreograph. This helps with dance, confidence, organization, leadership, resourcefullness, and team-building.

My children also take karate' within Michelle's building. The viewing area is cozy. I schedule dance and karate' classes at the same time for one trip. If your boy shuns dance, this is something he may be interested in.

I have been with Michelles for 2 years now. My 13 year old daugter started last year, with one class. She had so much fun and learned so much, that she has come back this year with 3 dance classes and her 16 year old sister has taken a class too! Hats off to the instructors (Ms. Michelle and Ms. Kathy) for getting these young girls involved with something they are now excited about! It has been hard work, but very rewarding to see the progress that they have made. I would recommend this studio to anyone! Kathy M.

Michelle's has only been open for 3 years. The first year we enjoyed it. The second we did not, and this year we did not return. The instruction they received was excellent. Middle daughters dance improved greatly. Not very friendly parents unless you are in company. Overall policies did not make me happy. Can not even video tape or take pictures of our 4 year old daughter - HAD to buy their video. She wasn't a professional - she is 4. Had 3 daughters on three different recital nights so the cost of the video's alone would have been $90.00 to get all three of them. Ended up being at the recital 3 nights plus rehearsal on school nights. Spent over 110.00 on recital tickets for just my husband and the girls alone for the different nights. Very good end of year production, the only other I have seen that good is American Dance Academy in South Lyon.

PROS: Good dance instruction.....
CONS: Not friendly parents unless company - not parent friendly policies

My daughter has attended Michelle's Dance Academy for years, and we are very pleased with the quality of instruction that she receives. The studios are spacious and comfortable, and she receives nice individual attention when needed. We have been to other dance studios in the past, and find Michelle's to be our favorite by far. We enjoy attending the recitials, and they are quality productions.

PROS: Good location, excellent instructors, nice studios, pleasant receptionest
CONS: a littly pricey, but worth it
