Michigan State University is a wonderful school! It is large which may intimidate some, but it really does become smaller once you have been there for a while. The people are so friendly, so it's not hard to find someone you click with. The professors really care about the students, and the school itself gives people great opportunities. Everyone who goes there ends up loving it.

I attended MSU, choosing it over schools like the University of Michigan, and I never regretted my decision. The campus is huge and there are tens of thousands of students, so if you want a small-college feel, then this probably isn't the school for you. Although specialized programs like Lymann Briggs and James Madison do offer a small liberal arts college atmosphere within a specific major. MSU's campus is beautiful, with lots of green areas and picturesque historical buildings. There are hundreds of student organizations and organized campus activities every weekend to keep you busy. I enjoyed my time in the dorms, and found MSU to offer much more student housing than many other schools. On the negative side, if you don't schedule carefully, you could face impossible treks across campus to get to your classes, and introductory classes, especially in the sciences, can be huge and impersonal. The school has a bit of a party reputation, exacerbated by past riots and similar situations. Their study abroad program is highly regarded and offers numerous opportunities to expand your world knowledge while also completing your education requirements. Overall, I just can't say enough good things about my time at MSU.
