I was so glad to see Dr. K. is back! I had taken my Great Dane to the new doctor but did not feel comfortable. I always felt Dr. K. really liked animals and he put up with my big brute! ..I found another Vet. but his prices were too high..We are going back to Ark! Welcome back!!!

WOO HOO!!! Dr.Koelsch is back!!! Thank GOD there is an HONEST vet around. I found this man to be a very nice and honest person and that is what I like. I dont want someone to lie and want a bunch of tests done that is not necessary. This Dr. is going to be honest, and thats what it should be!

HELP I need my records too, I have a 1 year old Shih Tzu that had all his shots there and I need the records!! I also have a 14 year old Brittany and her records are there too. If you know how we can get them, please email me at keithfamily@speednet.llc.com I personally did not have issues with Dr. Arnold, but we only required regular shot visits anyway. I always preferred Dr. Wenzel, he was AWESOME. but that was a long time ago, Dr. Koelsch did a great job with animals too.

I am so sorry that Dr. Koelsch is retired and had to sell Ark Animal Hospital !!! I don't know who wrote the comments about how "great" the new ownership was but it must have been written by her friends or something!! Dr. Koelsch was so honest and the new owner, Dr. Arnold, was never accurate about costsa nd would always charge way more than she originally told me. Some days I could hear her screaming at the staff from the back room! Oh Dr. Koelsch...we miss you!

I have Lab and am very happy since Dr. Arnold PURCHASED Ark Hospital in Pinconning, Michigan. She is wonderful with the animals and very kind and has time for the owners as well. My dog had gotten a hold of some rat bait and Dr. Arnold answered very early in the morning before the clinic ever opened, and as far as I am concerned if it had not been for her I would probably not have my dog today. She has her cell phone listed on her answering service so that ANY client has access to her by phone, and always returns phone calls.I was looking for a new vet for my dog, since I DIDN'T LIKE the way that Dr. Koelch treated my dog during an emergency and slapped her. Dr. Arnold would never do such a thing! Dr. Arnold is very knowledgeable and is Highly recommended, I'll never change vets as long as she is available in my area, Her costs are very reasonable and she stays up to date with any new products on the market and would only use them if she would use them on her own pets that she Loves as much as the clients that she has Loves theirs. Vets like Dr. Arnold need to be appreciated good vets are hard to come by, think about it; we as people can tell doctors what is wrong with us, but a Vet has to be special to have the insight to know more because the pets CANNOT tell the Dr. verbally how they feel.

I was very disappointed in this vet. I dropped my dog off for surgery but the vet was not there. I had many questions when I picked the dog up, but never got to talk with the vet. I did talk with the tech and asked if I could talk with the vet but she said she was gone. The tech was very nice, but would have preferred to talk with the vet. I also agree with the one review about price quote, they quoted one price on the phone but then charged another and my cat had all its vaccinations, which I brought proof of. I also did not like the fact that they did a leukemia test on my cat without my permission. I would not return.

I just wanted to comment on other reviews. I took my little dog here to get neutered, and I agree with the one review, the cost was going to be around $70 depending on weight, but they also said that they require the distemper, rabies and heartworm test for surgery and gave me prices on those. Antibiotics would be extra. This was all also explained to me when I brought the dog and signed the consent form.
Dr.'s are very busy people and have a life too, when I called to speak with her, a message was left with the staff, and she returned my call within the same day. I had my questions answered and everything was good.
I have a friend who is a vet Maine, and called him on this review. He said if you let the dog lick the incision sight and let him act like a normal dog, it is bound to become red, swollen and possibly bleed. He says that is why post surgical instructions are sent home with the owners, so they don't let there dogs act like idiots and pull that suture line apart. I just thought I'd put my own little review on here.
I really enjoyed this doctor and thought she was one of the better that I have seen throughout my life. Would recommend her to anyone. And if you have a question or concern...just call, the staff is usually more than helpful, and if not the doctor will return your call, just give her time.

I really enjoyed this vet, she seems very caring and understanding. I am really glad I took my sick cat to her, she was able to figure out what was going on, and helped us tremendously. This was the first vet that my husband seemed to like.

How frustrating it is when you are told one price but charged another? That is what I experienced at this vet. I also thought that they did not care about my cat. I had many concerns and the vet never called me back, I had to call several times to finally talk with her. I also spoke with one other client who has had the same experience. I did end up going to another vet to get my cat looked at. They were able fix the problem, and only charged 50$ I spent three times that at Ark and the cat was still sick! I did however find the office help very nice.

02/08 Was quoted $70 to have my 4 pound dog castrated. When my husband picked him up they had charged $150. (I had asked to talk with the vet about this and she never returned my call) We never seen the vet on drop off or pick up. When my husband brought the dog home, I looked at the operation site and to my horror it was bleeding, raw, red and swollen. The dog could barely walk, and apparently was never checked on. I called the vet back and we took the dog back in, was charged another $30, and given antibiotics. (we were able to see the vet at that time)This did not work and I ended up taking the dog to another vet for "repairs". Our dog is now 11 days post op and just beginning to heal, he had a massive infection, which we were told COULD be from non sterile technique. (they also said that there are other things it could be from) Lastly, Dr.Koelch has always owned this business, and we have taken our animals there for years with no problems. Apparently he has sold the business, did not let his customers know and now a new vet owns this. I was not impressed, and would have appreciated them telling me that he no longer was the vet. I felt really bad after taking my dog there as I know nothing about this vet. How experienced is she? What is her infection rates? References? I would not have taken the dog there if I knew that it was a different vet without checking her out first. I feel that this is why they did not allow us to see or talk with the vet prior to or after the castration

I just wanted to write about Ark Animal Hospital!! The new Doctor is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the old one. She has a lot of love for animals!! I had a great experience with her, my new puppy had been diagnosed with Parvo which is a very bad diesease in puppies.
She treated my puppy and sent us on our way, she called to check and see how the puppy was doing a few days later. She had saved our baby girl!!
And it wasn't very pricey.
This isn't the first time I've delt with parvo in a new dog, the first one we had cost us over $500 (and this was 5 years ago) and had extensive hospitalization at a vet in Bay City. Needless to say the dog didn't make it.
Dr. Arnold seems so wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone!!!
Thank you for all your hard work.

I have taken pets to Ark Animal Hospital on a number of occasions in the past...but the last time was when they killed my guinea pig by shoving the thermometer in right to the tip. On one occasion before with my pekingese they were very rough with him when he was in pain and he snapped which led the vet to scream at me to hold my d**n dog.
I dont recommend them to anyone...in fact I say steer clear of this vets office...there is no love for animals at this clinic.
