Magnificent!

by Thomas W.

The Drive in opened, it's officially summer! My family is so excited to see the movies, and as a parent, I feel so comfortable knowing that the Drive In does not tolerate rude behavior or alcohol. Additionally, the Drive In does not play anything over PG 13, which is perfect, as a family entertainment. Finally, they are a fantastic deal for a family, as they pay for our children under 12! We love the Drive In!

Cherry Bowl is Open for the Season!

by Benzie C.

The Cherry Bowl opened for the summer. My family is so happy! From the moment you meet their cheerful greeter at the box office when they payed for my children, it was again a wonderful time. We are blessed to have such a wonderful experience available to our children and community. God Bless the Drive In for staying open even in this tough economic time. My husband was just laid off and with three under ten, we were able to spend an entire family evening together and even had a birthday celebration for my youngest. We'll continue to celebrate for many years to come. Thank you, Cherry Bowl.

We love the Drive In!

by Melanie C.

We love the Drive In! My family and I have been going there for many years, and each time, we have a wonderful experience. My children enjoy the playground up front. We appreciate the fact that the Cherry Bowl does not tolerate rude behavior or alcohol. They never play anything stronger than PG 13, making it family friendly. We will always put the Cherry Bowl at the top of our "to do" list when we vacation in Honor!

World-Class, First Class

by John D.

They really run a first class operation at the Drive In. They don't tolerate nonsense, rude behavior, and alcohol. I am so appreciative, as I bring my family there every summer. We've been attending the Cherry Bowl for at least 25 years, and will continue to do so, as they have high standards that promote a family atmosphere.

Fabulous Evening...As Always!

by Liza C.

My family and I attended the Cherry Bowl this past summer and had a wonderful evening under the stars! We had made the Cherry Bowl part of our vacation every summer for the past 30 years! We look forward to going again this summer for family fun in a safe, secure atmosphere under the stars. Family places are so few and far between. We are really lucky to have the Cherry Bowl here! Stay forever! Cherry Bowl, keep up the keep good work.

Cherry Bowl Drive In

by Thomas B.

Over the past 13 years we have been loyal patrons of the Cherry Bowl Drive In until tonight. The first hint of future problems came when my son and I decided to play their putt putt golf course. I sent him to pay at the diner when I was approached by a male employee that acted a bit odd. This employee looked sternly at me and said, "If you want to play our putt putt golf you have to pay at the diner just like the sign says." I told him that we had played here before and that I had sent my son with money to pay. He then said, "Well its $3.00 a person." I told him I knew this and had read the sign before sending my son with the correct amount so that we could both play. At this point he muttered something under his breath and I couldn't clearly hear what had been said but understood the tone only too well. I said, "Excuse me?" "What did you just say to me?" He didn't reply but instead walked away.

My 13 year old son arrived and we began to play. As we were at the last three holes I noticed this male employee was back and was starring at us. This made my son ask what was he doing and I told him to ignore him. We finished playing and started back to our vehicle where my wife and 17 year old daughter were sitting in front of our vehicle waiting for the movie to start.

At this point a large SUV pulled the row in front of us and opened their hatch. This blocked our view so we moved the seats to the side of our vehicle. As we began to settle in when the same male subject that I had had contact with earlier came and told us that we had to move back in front of our vehicle. My wife explained that we could not see because of the SUV with the open hatch and he told her to then move our vehicle.

This did not set well with me but I kept my mouth shut and we did as he instructed and we moved over two spaces. Next, a mini van pulled into the row in front of us and opened their hatch. Again we could not see so we moved next to our vehicle again. Again this male employee approached and said we had to move from the side of our vehicle. I advised him of what had happened and he again told me to move.

This time I did not keep my mouth shut and told him that maybe he should also enforce their own rules about allowing the hatches to remain open and people sitting on top of their vehicles. I pointed to the vehicle two spots down from us where two children were in sleeping bags on top of their SUV. I also showed him the two vehicles in front of us with the hatches open. He said he would take care of it but then walked away and did nothing.

At this point there were maybe four vehicles in our row and no vehicles on the back row. Two spots away from us were people sitting next to and in front of their vehicles. I began to feel that we were beginning to be singled out but I again moved my vehicle but this time moved it sideways and down from where we had been. We were now next to another couple with their chairs sitting next to their vehicle.

I short time later the movie started and we noticed a white haired man walked by from row to row. Shortly after this the same male employee appraoched and said I had to move my vehicle again and to park it back a little bit. Again I moved my vehicle. I also told him that now the rear of our vehicle was out a little into the driving lane. He walked away and over the couple near us and then shined the light into their eyes and asked if they were drinking. This couple had Pepsi cups from their diner. The employee looked from them to us as if they were with us. He turned and left after I said they were not with us and about 5 minutes later he returned. he told me I had to move my vehicle again.

At this point I had had enough of being singled out and was very upset. I requested he get the owner or manager and that we were now going to leave. Specifically, I told him that we would take the $34.00 refund for the ticket sale and just leave since that was what he apparently wanted. He called someone on the radio that he carried and we started packing our chairs into our vehicle.

About one minute later the same white haired man from earlier arrived and we moved to the rear of my vehicle. We quietly discussed what was going on. I told him it was not worth the trouble and we would just leave. I asked him for the refund and could tell this angered him because he stiffened up. He said that he normally did not do this but he would this time.

I waited until he returned and handed me money and I counted out the $34.00. I could tell this angered him even further because he rudely pointed to the exit sign and and said, "Thats the way out, goodbye."

I had enough and was very angry myself and said, "Over the past 13 years we have been coming to the Cherry Bowl Drive In and I think I know the way out by now." I also told him this was the last time we would ever come there.

The Cherry Bowl is made for warm summer nights

by Allison C. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 470

The Cherry Bowl Drive In takes you back to being a kid and watching movies out of the back of your parent's pick up truck. There are old time clips that run in between the feature films. The films themselves are always family appropriate and the snack stand is full of goodies. The owners are on site to make sure that everyone stays safe and has fun. The parking is set up so that every vehicle gets a good view of the picture and you can use the speakers (or your car radio) to pick up the sound. We visit whenever we're up north and really love the welcome that we receive.

A Summer Time Requirement!!!

by Rebekah R. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,600

I've been going to the Cherry Bowl since I was a kid! Every summer we'd go a couple of times a month even though it was 45 minutes from home! And with the new-ish owners it's even better now than ever! The diner has great movie foods like pizza, milkshakes, chicken and of course pop and popcorn. They always play 2 new movies for less than the price of a traditional theater (what a deal!), and never anything rated R so it's great for families with kids of all ages! It's a wonderful place where you don't have to worry about your kids playing by themselves at the playground at the front or at the putt putt course! They always get the best drive in movies too, like "Signs" and "War of the Worlds". It's wonderful for those with young kids too since you don't have to worry too much about them disturbing others! I still remember packing sleeping bags and pillows and laying in front of the car watching movies with my sisters as a kid. .. I can't wait to share it with my girls as they get bigger!
