The walleye at Dolce Vita was excellent! Prepared by gourmet chefs it was very white in color and tender! Accompanied with Asparagus and Cream of Brocolli soup, it is definitely a meal to remember!

Pros: The walleye is very good; however every fish has it's bones!

Cons: The walleye was 10" long and very tender!

We went for my birthday tonight. The atmosphere is lovely. The art and lighting was quite nice. We even liked the waitstaff's "look", all dressed in black with the long bistro style aprons. The 1st course was fine but the prime rib was the worst my husband ever had. He sent it back because it was cold and then he still had to leave half of it on his plate because he couldn't cut through it because of all the fat and gristle. My dish was also cold and the cheese had hardened on the pasta and shrimp which made it just weird. The shrimp was also over-cooked. The restaurant was very busy but unfortunately, you don't get re-do's on your birthday. I was given a free dessert because it was my birthday but they did not take anything off of the bill for the poor entree's. We had been there before and had wonderful appetizers and that is what I would have next time.I gave it 2 stars for the atmosphere and delicous fresh bread/salads/soups.

I have never written a review online before. After my experience here last night, I had to let other people know.

The server was great, hence the one star. The hostess and manager were so immature and unprofessional, it really ruined the entire evening.

The food was over cooked and flavorless- I wonder how many things they actually make as opposed to what they buy from Sysco or US Foods? I am sure they don??t make the blue cheese dressing, the lasagna, frozen salmon, the list could go on forever. The prices...for pasta?!?

First of all, we had a reservation for 10 people which was made in advance. When making the reservation we stated that it would be for 7 adults and 3 kids...2 booster chairs and a highchair. When we walked in the hostess couldn't have been more clueless. She had no idea about the res. even after we had called twice, and then made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her because of the kids. We were seated next to a table that was dirty and remained dirty the whole entire time we were there.

Then we tried to order a hamburger for the kids, which they don't offer. Oh, they have it on their lunch menu, but you can't have it for dinner.

After the server agreed about the fact that it was so ridiculous, the manager came over and attempted to ??help? us understand their ??policy?. Andrea came over to the table and said, ??so is this the hamburger guy!?!? so loudly it was almost comical. It was as if she was trying to draw attention to me and herself from everyone in the restaurant. It felt like a circus routine. She was the ring master and the star of the show. She then proceeds to explain to me they ??can??t? do it because after lunch they break everything down and it??s put all the way in the back of the walk-in. So, ??they can??t even get to it.? How big is there walk-in? They also break down the ??flattop? grill after lunch. As if they couldn??t cook a burger in a saut pan. ??Welcome to the best in hospitality?? as it says at the top of their website, is that a joke?

I own several restaurants in NYC. It is almost always disappointing eating outside of the city. I know it may come off as a bit arrogant, but I say that because the level of competition is so fierce that if you are even slightly bad, you close. Hospitality is king. If selling burgers at your restaurant at night is a bad idea to you?then have two menus. But don??t be cheap and have one menu where people can see you have burgers during lunch, but don??t want to offer them at dinner because you are trying to better than you are or because you are trying not to lower your nightly check average. Everyone gets it, you are not some genius. The server confirmed that she had that problem explaining it to other customers all the time. Shouldn't restaurants being bending over backwards to take of us in this economy? What burgers are too low class for dinner? Why is everyone in the place wearing shorts? The place is amatuer hour.

I spoke to Andrea after the disappointing meal. I thought she might want to control the level of her voice when speaking to a customer, but she became defensive and later claimed to have a hearing problem. She said that she worked in ??the best restaurant? in Monroe. Maybe that means a lot more to her than most people. Obviously, she already knows everything. If this place wasn??t in Monroe, it probably wouldn??t be open, that??s how bad it is.

Spend your money elsewhere, I know I will

I have had the opportunity to dine at this fine restaurant on 2 occasions. I found the wait staff to be very good(not pushy), the portions hearty, and the Martini's perfectly chilled. The appetizers are large enough to share with 2 or 3 persons. I could have made a meal out of the mussels-yummy! The menu is varied enough that everyone can find something they would like.The soups that I have had appeared to be "homemade", though I did find one a bit salty for my taste, so taste before salting. If you are a Veal lover, as I am, you will not be disappointed. The veal saltimbocca was absolutely delicious. The veal Michealangelo was LOADED with seafood(scallops, shrimp, and crab) in a delicate tomato cream sauce, the veal fork tender on both occasions. Recommended also is the angel hair pasta with oil and garlic for a side. The atmosphere is cozy without being crowded, dress is casual though you would not feel out of place dressed up. I have not eaten there on a Friday or Sat. nite so I cannot recommend making reservations though I would not be suprised if you would need them on those nights. Located in a shopping plaza, easy to find. I will make the drive from Toledo(20 miles) again very soon!
