I haven't had a cleaning in a few years because my previous job didn't offer insurance. When I finally got around to scheduling my cleaning I was able to get a late night appointment.\n\nThe cleaning was pretty straightforward & my teeth felt clean afterwards (yay!) \nTHE ONLY BAD THING WAS I HAD CAVITIES :(\n\nI had about 4 cavities total & was able to get in pretty quickly to get them taken care of. \n\nThe fillings didn't hurt AT ALL. I didn't even feel the injection, and I have such a fear of that stuff..hate getting poked.\nI'm glad everything was really relaxing, I felt taken care of.\nI still go back for cleanings & learned how to take care of my teeth better, I would recommend to family & friends.

I already had many issues with Dr. Gilbert before I knew about the gap in a crown that he did and was going to another dentist who told me about the gap and that I would have to go back to Dr. Gilbert to fix it. I did and he agreed that it was not done properly and fixed it but he charged my insurance for the work. For a problem that his incompetent staff created! He should not have charged me. It was his mistake! This crown was just a few months old. Not only that a year or two later my new dentist said I had a cavity under that crown and would have to get a new crown. Of course I had to pay for it out of my own pocket because your insurance will only cover a crown every 5 years. This is one of several problem I had with this dentist over the years that I went to him. From the incompent staff that he hires, to having work done by him and then seeing he billed my insurance for something else. I think this guy is a crook.

I am writing this review to help anyone looking for a dentist. I recently moved to the area, and like most people, I wanted to get set up with a dentist to care for my oral hygiene. I looked to see what was close and read a few reviews, finally deciding on Royal Oak Dental due to proximity. They were quick to schedule an appointment, but it was all down hill from there. \n\nFirst off, his office is old and dirty... a strike right off the bat! When I think of a dentist's office, I want something that is new, or at least clean and sanitary. His hygienists seem nice, though they actually fought over the last working dental chair. I eventually had to have my teeth cleaned in a side room - in plain view of all the people in the waiting room. That was uncomfortable! When Dr. Gilbert finally came in, he just sat down right in my face without introducing himself. Some people are ok with their dentist not having any social skills, but I am not one of them. I attended medical school and have met plenty of fellow doctors that lack basic people skills, but I found Dr. Gilbert to take the cake. He was egotistical and abrasive. I suppose it is possible that I caught Dr. Gilbert on a bad day, but I doubt it. My wife had a appointment at the same time and I found out that he actually made her cry. If you are looking for a new dentist, I suggest you keep looking. Dr. Gilbert of Royal Oak Dental is not someone I would recommend to anyone.

I found this dentist through my insurance company and had relatively few problems with simple, routine cleanings. That all changed once I had a problem with my back tooth. I have been having unresolved problems with my crown since last December thanks to Dr. Gilbert and his incompetent staff. They fight with me constantly telling me I am ""imagining"" the pain in my tooth. I finally paid another dentist to look over the work they did and was told the crown was done wrong with a gap in it and they have been letting bacteria leak in the gap on to my real tooth. Wouldn't a good dentist notice this and fix it? One would think so but they still put up a fight about it. They are being reported to the American Dental Association and I want all to know STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DENTIST if you care anything about your teeth!!!
