My kids are the second generation of my family to see Dr. T. We absolutely love him. In fact, my brother went there until his early 20's when Dr. T gently suggested that maybe it was time for him to find an adult doctor :)
The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The doctors are top notch and are very up to date on current practice in the parenting/medical world.
In fact, my eye doctor told me that they are the only office in the area that screens for the shape of kids eyes with a special machine, so that they can catch vision problems very early.

Oh, and for the person who had a problem with Dr. Knickerbocker-- he has been retired for quite a few years now.

I have been with Lansing Peds for a little over 4 years. They were great the first 2 years but the last 2 years have been terrible. They can never get my kids in. My children have not seen their doctor in 2 yrs. They see a nurse! Nurses are good but come on 2 yrs! They have made alot of changes but not for the good of their patients!

My husband started with LPA as an infant through 19 years old. We started again with our kids- ages 13 and 8. We love the hours, the care, the immunization plans, the ill child visits, the Saturday hours and the Nurseline. Nurse Jan was loved, Nurses Lori are awesome, and each of the front desk staff are helpful. Drs. T, Josh and Dusty are really knowledgeable and it is nice we have so many specialties on hand to help when needed.
I believe that those posts that deal with the rating for this office should look at each of the negative posts- only one is actually from a previous patient at Lansing Peds.

We first went here after my daughter was born. We saw Dr. Knickerbocker, I believe. At about our fourth appointment, he asked, "So have grandpa and grandma asked the question yet?" I asked, "What question?", thinking it might be when were having more kids. He said, "About having her ears worked on. We can have skin cut out so they lay flatter." I couldn't believe it!! Her ears are by no means abnormal. At that time they stuck out a little bit, nothing that she hasn't grown in by now. What kind of a doctor asks a question like this of new parents or even thinks of this!?! Needless to say we switched practices. The waits were always too long anyway. We go to Pediatric Associates of Lansing now and they are great!

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Israel's for almost 5 years and we just love him and everyone in the practice. The nurse line has been especially helpful. I have to disagree with the poster who adopted a child from China because I also adopted my daughter internationally and had no problem having her accepted as a patient at 5 months when I explained the situation. Kudos to the staff. We are thankful you are there.

I can not say enough positive things about Lansing Pediatrics. My children (ages 14 & 10) are patients of Dr. T's and they absolutely love him. The whole staff is amazing! Any time when my children have been sick, I have always been able to get them in that same day. I don't even have that much luck with my own doctor!

My husband and I absolutely love this practice and think that Dr. Josh is the best! We are always able to get in right away and the staff is very caring. We are first time parents to a preemie and Dr. Josh took so much time to answer all of our questions and constantly reassured us that we were doing everything right. Our son is now one, happy and healthy. Taking our son to this practice was the best thing that we could have done for him!

Both of my daughters and seven of my nieces and nephews have always received excellent care wit Lansing Pediatrics. My youngest daughter has severe developmental delays due to a genetic condition that was first diagnosed by the pediatricians of Lansing Peds and we found a treatment through the specialists they referred us to. It is an excellent practice and all children should receive such excellent care.

It's funny. The only complaints on this are about the fact that they won't take new patients except those right out of the hospital. This is their policy and they are entitled to make it and follow it. I don't think many realize how busy this office is and how many patients they have. Either way, I think the reviews should be based on the care they give their patients and those who have never received care from them shouldn't be leaving reviews. I do agree that routine visits may take a while to get into, but they are awesome with sick kid visits and the nurse line. I prefer it to be that way.

I have been taking my oldest child to LPA for over 16 years now. When I adopted my, then almost 2 year old, they gladly accepted her as a patient. I love them.

Lansing Pediatrics has been a part of my family's life for about 30 years now. Both my brother and I were patients there when we were young and now all 4 of my children are patients (and my nephew is as well). The physicians at this practice are wonderful, but they are often not accepting new patients in order to provide the best possible care for those that they already do have (they are already at a maximum case load.). All 4 of my children see Dr. Hoopingarner and he's been wonderful to work with. It does take a while to get in for routine visits because the appointments have to be prioritized based upon need. I am absolutely fine with that because I do not expect my healthy child's check to take precedence over a sick child who needs care sooner. I would want the same consideration for my own children. When my children have been ill, Lansing Pediatrics has always had same day appointments (it might not be with your child's doctor, but they will get you in!) and that has been a blessing often times. I can call the nurse line or even speak to a doctor after hours if absolutely needed--and they will follow up with you after the fact. This is an excellent practice and they care enough to enforce policies so that they can continue to provide quality care for the existing pediatric patients. I have nothing bad to say about Lansing Pediatrics and, with approximately 30 years worth of interactions, that should speak volumes.

My 11 and 10 year old children have been patients since birth, but you haven't been there in 1 month shy of 3 years, but every year prior to. So they tell me we are longer welcomed there because you are now considered a new patient and they aren't accepting new patients....and we haven't seen any other doctor except them! Loved the practice and really disappointed with this. Further more, I have referred many friends to them. So now need to look for another doctor.

Sure they will take new patients - as long as they are a new baby right out of the hospital and not seen by another doctor. Don't expect them to budge - even if your 'new baby' is 15 months old and born in China. She was a new baby to me, but they didn't care. I found out other adoptive parents had the same issue.

I think their policy on new patients is ridicules. I have three children who are 10mo., 4yrs, and 10yrs. I recently decided to take our children to a pediatrician due to my kids?? having a few uncommon issues that I didn't feel that my family doc. is equipped to handle. Even though they were the pediatricians that saw my baby in the hospital they couldn't see them due to my baby being seen at another doctor since. Not only did they say this but they were not friendly about it in the least.

These review percentages have been rounded-up... If you calculate the averages on this Pediatric office, they rank 70.9%. Customer satisfaction ratings (in my opinion) should be in the 85%-90%, minimum.
Be careful how you interpret this information!!!!

Good luck!

I have a son who has seizures, RSV, pnumonia...you name it. I would never trust anyone else with his care. The doctors and nurses are fantastic and caring...so great. I have NEVER been turned away for a sick call - nurses remember us (we've been there A LOT) return calls after hours, make follow up calls.
My kids actually like and want to see Dr. T! We drive 50 minutes just to stay with this practice after we moved.

I have been going to Lansing Peds for almost tens years. I became a new patient when my son's doctor left his practice to go to the hospital physican. My son was almost a year and had some major health problems with RSV. The service and staff has been great. I can schedule a sick day appointment that day. They have a nurse line to answer questions and if they can't you can be referred to your doctor. When my daughter broke her foot I received approximately 5 calls checking on the status and follow ups. They are great!

Poor business practices. I am new to this office after moving to the area- was there a month ago for my infant's vaccinations/well visit. Brought all records from previous doctor for both the baby and my school age child. Just called today for a sick visit for older child and was told they have to see her for initial routine exam before they will see her when ill. Proceeded to tell me that they don't have any "new" patient appointments until January and if my child is sick I should take her to an urgent care facility. None of this info was conveyed to me when I transferred children to this practice. If this is their policy why don't they initiate an appointment when accepting new patients or at least inform parents so that I could have scheduled months ago? They don't seem to have any concern for the fact that there is a sick child. Definitely failed my expectations for the service I expect from a good pediatrician's office. If you are a new patient looking for quality service, be wary of this office, or at least be prepared to wait months for your child to be seen and have an alternate medical plan in place.

We've been coming to Lansing Peds for over 20 years and have received the best care possible. My brothers didn't want to move to a regular doctor after they turned 18. Our family loves all the doctors in the group and I support the filter on new patients. This truly shows that they care more about the children they already have and not the bottom line.

We absolutely LOVE these doctors and nurses!!! They always have same day and weekend appointments if our kids are sick. They always take the most care and time with our kids and others. And in answer to others posting about not accepting new ones. How many patients can a doctor take on without compromising the care of their current patients? I think they are being extremely responsible to their current patients and still trying to be open to new patients to a small degree. I certainly wouldn't appreciate it if my children who have gone there for 7 + years couldn't get an appointment with their doctor because he is more interested in the money he would get by adding more and more patients. Kudos to the doctors here for caring for kids more than money! Thanks

Our family has been going to Lansing Pediatrics for 19 years and have received nothing but excellent service. Our waiting time has been less than 20 mins (max) in the front lobby. Both are children have been consistently seen by the same doctor over the years. The staff is helpful and professional.

Why would a pediatric office only take newborn babies... the receptionist told me that if I had a newborn and my baby had siblings (who were older) they could take them. Just not older babies in general. Very unfair.

I've TOTALLY got to agree with the poster about not accepting patients. They will **ONLY** take them if they are RIGHT out of the hospital....NEWBORN. My son is 6 weeks and they won't take him. Nice, isn't it? What the HELL is that about??? Pretty poor business, if you ask me. Don't waste your time if you don't have a newborn that's been seen before!

I was very disappointed in Lansing Pediatric Associates. I attempted to take my son there, as they came highly recommended and his current pediatrician dropped his insurance. However, they would not see him because he had already been seen by another practice. I find it very sad that they are more concerned with their rules than they are with the well being of an infant. My son now has no pediatrician and this business does not care in the least. I would not recommend them to anyone. Children should be their top priority and it most definitely is not.

This pediatrician office is the best I have ever known. There are many doctors and staff that work together well to meet the needs of your children. The hours of operation are friendly to parents as well as those who work. Saturday appointments are also available for sick children. The level of care and competency is tremendous. Could not recommend higher.
