This Family Place has an Arcade that puts children in DANGER!!
by Joanna B.
We stopped at the arcade at The Riverplace. They have prizes for tickets that the children receive for playing games. My son was given a prize called a bomb bag. This prize had no directions written on it (but stated for children 3 and over), nor did the man at the counter tell my son who has just turned 6 that this could be dangerous. It was a foil sealed bag that had army planes on it. This bag suddenly inflated and my son had it near his ears and eye when exploded. He has a large scar between his eye and ear. If it would have been close to his eye he would of been blinded. When I came home I searched the Internet to see why this happened. The directions that were not on the item given to him or explained by the man at the arcade are. If the bomb bag is pressed it inflates, then within 7-9 seconds it explodes. This happened in the store, if they are not giving directions to these children some child will be loosing there eyesight. I went to the counter and showed the man what happened. He did not care, and left the item on the shelf for another child to be injured.
My stay was great until we went to this arcade. Does not care for the safety of children. Sad...this is a family place.

We love to stop here during our trip to Frankenmuth and shop the stores. Some of our favorites are the bead store, the popcorn store (sample the many different kinds), the toy store and the mirror maze. Be sure to get a coupon book from the hotel.

We always add River Place to our list of things to do when we visit Frankenmuth! They have a wide variety of different stores. (two of my favorites being the Christmas store and the Yankee Candle Store.) THey also have ice cream shops and fudgeries. Well worth the visit. In the evenings in the summer they have amazing lazer light shows that keep everyone in amazement- even our 13 month old daughter. The landscaping is beautiful and even if you didn't want to shop, it is worth going just to look and take in the beauty! FOr the kids, there is also an awesome arcade.

There are many shops here. There is also a haunted house. For the price it was dissapointing but if you really like haunted houses it's worth a walk through. There is a mirror maze. It is cooler and harder than I thought it would be. The cosmic bumper cars are lame. They play this super fast techno music as the car slowly putt putt along. And there's a colored light overhead which makes it cosmic. Maybe really young kids will like it.
